selling avon online?

One of my friends on FB messaged me the other day about selling avon online. I guess you set up your own "store" online, and let friends know about it, etc. I think she is just trying to get reps under her so she can make a commission, I am assuming. Anyway, does anyone know if you can really make much money with this?

It's the same thing as spamming online. You get more suckers to buy your product, or sign up under you so you make a commission, then it's up to the new suckers to do the same that's been done to them - recruit more suckers to sign up or buy.

You end up online the same as in real life; being a PITA to all your friends and family when you push that crap on them, and you become a nuisance on social media sites posting the crap on thousands of sites in order to hook more suckers.

It's that simple. I delete and ban out-of-state and foreign profiles all the time from my local very popular social media website. Why should they be on a local buy and sell site that's only supposed to be for people in this city and state?

So much negativity...I have nothing to do with the original post...but what does it matter. If you are not interested in something, keep it moving...Avon, MaryKay, and other MLM or network marketing companies are not pyramid schemes...people should do research before displaying anger and hate towards things they do not understand. BTW, these companies have been around for decades. They would be shut down if part of their compensation plan was illegal. Have a wonderful day.

I did look into it somewhat. Avon is not considered a pyramid company. All I wondered is if anyone sold avon or knew someone who sold avon and how much effort it takes to make a few hundred bucks a month. Now that it is online, it seems like it would be a bit easier than knocking door to door, delivering orders, etc.

In the time you spend to get a few hundred ... which will be a lot ... you could study coding and just get a job that pays better. To me, selling junky products to scrabble up pennies is poverty thinking.

If somebody is going to look at Avon online, they are likely to look at a host of other cosmetic products online as well. The question would be what differentiates Avon from anything else they can get? One of the strengths in the past of Avon was the relationship one could develop with their representative, the samples that were possible, the relative ease of returning a product that did not meet your expectations, etc. Basically that is now removed. Now there are only a few products that are really all that exclusive to Avon and they are not likely to garner you a hundred bucks a month.

Agreed with the previous poster, better off spending your time studying for a different and much better career that pays you a definite hourly wage instead of depending on people to buy from you.
