We got 12-14 inches last night in northeast Ohio. What state are you in? We're supposed to get 2-4 more today. I haven't seen this much snow since the winter of 1995-1996 when I lived in CT. They set a record for snowfall that year at 115.2 inches. We'd get one blizzard, they'd plow the roads and parking lots and we'd get another. It got to the point where the snow piles on the sides of roads and parking lots made it impossible to see if any cars were coming before you pulled out. It was one heck of a winter. The PCP I worked for actually closed the office a couple of times because it was just so bad.

I'm in SE Pennsylvania. Very nice snowstorm which I don't mind as long as I don't have to go out in it! French toast sounds good. I'm supposed to be working, but got the dreaded NJA message.

Where in SE PA are you - - sm

I'm in Reading. We got lots of snow but I haven't measured yet. I'm working this weekend. Doesn't matter anyway, can't get out and do anything.

Snowstorm/not going out - Vikefan

No kidding about not going out. My car is literally BURIED in the snow. It's a little Hyundai Sonata. When I went outside early this morning to help Hubby shovel the driveway so he could leave for work, I had to do a double take to make sure it was still there. It's covered! 12 inches. 2-4 more today. Yuck. I hate snow.

Live in central PA, not sure how much is out there. DH is plowing the driveway right now. I have my coffee, my laptop, 2 books, and a movie. It's all good.

I said earlier we had 12 inches. They're now saying we got 12-14 with 2-4 more on it's way.

I live south of Pittsburgh. My husband measured the snow in our front yard, and it is 21 inches. I have a tree in my front yard and it has cracked in 3 separate places because of the snow. My poor dog used our sidewalk to do his business because he could not get in the yard. It's a mess.

They didn't even plow our street until about 1:00 this afternoon (gee, thanks for doing it after I shoveled the driveway this morning.  The plow guy just pushed several inches back into my driveway.  Not like it can be helped but it's annoying.  Aw, heck.  I need the exercise anyway. Also, the guy didn't put any salt or slag down.  Go figure.  It's like a sheet of ice out there and I've got one of my pugs who may only be 26 lbs, but she's very strong and she was trying to pull me down the road so she can chase the plow guy (pugs have very inflated egos - they think everyone is approaching them to pet them or give them food.  They're very friendly and naive).  I was just praying that I wouldn't fall.  That's all I need is another broken foot.  ;-)

I'm just outside of Philly. We have more than a foot. - sm

Now the Wall Street Journal has gone back to fact check a claim Carson made last month, in which he says he shielded white students from rioting after the assassination of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968. The Journal could find no evidence the event occurred. In Carson’s account to the Journal last month, black students unleashed fury and grief over the slaying of King on white classmates at Detroit’s Southwestern High. French Far Right Looks For Gains In Regional PollsMar 22, 2015
France's National Front, one of the most powerful populist far right parties in Europe, eyed significant gains against President Francois Hollande's ruling socialists in regional elections Sunday. The elections' first round got under way at 8:00 am (0700 GMT) across 101 "departments", which control issues such as school and welfare budgets. For the National Front, Sunday was a chance to punish the Socialists and get up a head of steam for presidential elections in 2017 that ...

Oh How Awful For The EastJan 25, 2015
Just heard New York and in the Eastern Coast may get 20-30 inches of snow. They have blizzard warnings out and the mayor of NY has warned people to prepare and to not expect this to be like other storms. We are having snow and it is getting colder here, but we are maybe to have 2-4 inches by tomorrow. I had hoped the worst of winter was over, but at least we are not in the East. I feel so very bad for them. I hope their electricity will stay on. I have been through a ten-day ice storm and it ...

Please Pray For The People In The EastJan 25, 2015
Please pray for the Eastern part of the country. They are to get blizzard and as much as 20-30 inches of snow. I worry about electricity staying on and the temps will get very cold too. Here it is snowing some and we may get 2-4 inches and temps going down. Having been through an ice storm, I know how much people rely on electricity especially since most apartments are heated and your cooking stove is electric. Just a note to tell you I am getting my strength back. I have to go for a ...

Yikes!  It's a good thing we're drilling for oil here in the U.S.!  Oh wait, never mind. Traded Taliban Leaders Free To Roam In Middle East?Jun 03, 2014
President Obama's claim Tuesday that the U.S. would "be keeping eyes" on five hardened Taliban leaders traded for Sgt. The source, identified as a senior Gulf official, reportedly told Reuters that the five Taliban members would not be treated like prisoners while staying in Qatar, where th ...
