I'm proud to live in one of the top ten states using alternative energy. Hopefully this trend will continue despite this oil and coal loving administration.

your backyard? Do some research on respiratory illness and cancers faced by people who live by coal plants. Just because you were fortunate not to, everybody isn't.

Nobody is talking about propaganda, just protecting the planet we all live on.

Maybe a little education on "alternative energy" would be helpful. It means exactly that, alternative "energy." This means energy to run the plants that produce electricity and power your homes. NOBODY said we can live without using oil but using solar and wind would significantly decrease the need for oil.

There are also companies that are finding more environmental friendly ways to make those products.

Do you recycle or is that against a republican law? I do and that also decreases the need to use new drilled or mined products.

To the one above who said windmills kill birds, yes it does and they are developing and using deterrents to help stop that. Also, do you know how many birds, fish and mammals are killed by using oil pipes and having spills?

I cannot see why anyone would not want to find ways that are more environmental friendly whether you believe in global warming or not. Even oil companies are extending to developing alternative energy. They are looking to the future.

Do some research!

We are planning to build a tiny cabin in the woods and I would like to stay "off grid". Not to say I do not want some conveniences. We plan to use propane for cooking and we have a generator. I am interested in using some solar panels/and or wind for basic lighting, radio, whatever. Any experience and/or advice? ...
