We started to have some of our bathroom fixtures replaced

at the house like the drop in vanity sink etc and we had a plumber do all this and they got very good "name brand" sinks, faucets etc. I am amazed at how the quality of a lot of these things has deteriorated compared to the old stuff and how that was made. It just seems like everything today is disposable and this stuff cost a lot of money plus installation. I guess this is the way it is. You do the best you can. I think if this is the good stuff what are the cheaper things like. All made overseas and the quality control is very poor for some of these companies for sure.

Shoddy quality--this is why I have put with my lavender purple commode, sink and tub for 2 decades. They are solid. Don't even get me started on the quality of faucets. YouTube has saved me lots of money on small-medium plumbing installation and repair.

I can from now on to keep the old stuff and get it repaired. No way am I going to buy new crap made in somewhere land that is junk. As I said the sink was literally falling apart and the faucets were getting corroded from this water so no choice. They lasted 20 years and I guarantee you this junk wont.

carry different grades of their products. Usually if you buy from a plumbing company, you will get the better quality. They generally sell the lower grade fixtures from DIY chain stores.

Did the plumber offer you different choices?

the chain stores for sure. I really don't do chain stores for this type of thing. I just think the quality has not been maintained even on the better quality things. I have talked to people that have had just so many problems with new homes and the quality of a lot of things. I think that is the way things have become. No this plumber was from a large very well respected company that has been around for years and years. They don't mickey mouse things.

A friend's mother had a hip replacement about 2-3 years ago. Now the physician tells her she will have to do physical therapy x2 times a week and said she would need it the rest of her life. I have never heard of anything like this. The mother is unable to afford extra $$$ per month to go that many times a week and says she can swing maybe twice a month. Has anyone else heard of forever ongoing PT for a hip replacement? TIA. ...

They actually started a couple of years ago. She gets them once in a while. I'd say she probably gets one every three months or so. They are pretty severe, make her cry. I've taken her to the ER before where she has had a CAT scan that was completely normal which prompted the diagnosis of migraines. So now I've been watching her for possible triggers.
