Has anyone ever replaced an iPhone battery

I'm not sure what to do. My current battery will not hold a charge whatsoever. I just wonder if anyone has experience with a replacement battery? Thank you for your time.;

[ In Reply To ..]I was having the same problem and couldn't figure out what was going on. Turns out that the battery had "swollen" which was visible if I turned the phone sideways. Maybe heat got to it. Anyway, I just bought a new battery and replaced it myself. Way cheaper than getting a new phone. Just do it! :)

[ In Reply To ..]Apple charges $79 to replace a battery if the phone is out of warranty but you would need to pay the shipping. Also, you could check your local classifieds or computer shops, there are quite a few people who replace batteries. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you have some repair skills. Regardless of what you do, it is going to be cheaper than a new phone, the iPhone 8 is going to sell for $800 to $1000. There is a new iOS version that is going to be released in October that only supports iPhone 5S and newer (64 bit) so depending on how old your phone is you may need to upgrade anyway.

A friend's mother had a hip replacement about 2-3 years ago. Now the physician tells her she will have to do physical therapy x2 times a week and said she would need it the rest of her life. I have never heard of anything like this. The mother is unable to afford extra $$$ per month to go that many times a week and says she can swing maybe twice a month. at the house like the drop in vanity sink etc and we had a plumber do all this and they got very good "name brand" sinks, faucets etc. I am amazed at how the quality of a lot of these things has deteriorated compared to the old stuff and how that was made. It just seems like everything today is disposable and this stuff cost a lot of money plus installation. I guess this is the way it is. You do the best you can.
