Real-Time Writing 200+ words per minute - 100% accuracy

I use the Stenomachine to input my text.  I am up to 150 words per minute which translates into timed writings of 400 lines per hour.  I am curious to know if anyone of my fellow transcriptionists is using the Stenomachine and what success have you had with it.  Also, if there is anyone interested in finding out about steno real-time writing go to You-Tube site "Court Reporting Contest - 280 Words Per Minute! - YouTube"  It blows my mind every time I watch it - just think of the earning possibilities -- If you are interested in learning the steno without going to courtreporting school, e-mail me and I will send you info.

;

Okay - that blew my mind - and I thought I was fast - Thanks for the post - loved it

No where near her. LOL - About 22 or so years ago I started studying to become a court reporter, but I couldn't afford to finish. This was a fun reminder.

I Can Not Take Credit For Writing This But I AmJul 23, 2010
I know that it will be followed by another silly tit-for-tat argument instead of some real, honest, self reflection, I am sorry to say.    I find it sadly humorous that a certain official increased the national debt from 5 Trillion to 11 Trillion dollars in 8 years, more than any administration, basically bankrupting the Treasury and adding a tax burden of gigantic proportions to future American citizens. I find it sadly humorous that during the grounding of all aircraft just after S ...

I'm Writing A Novel - Need SuggestionsNov 24, 2012
I'm participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).  The idea is you write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November, good, bad, or ugly, just get the words down.  My main character is an MT and she and her co-worker are talking about bad dictators.  I could use more ideas.  What is the funniest/strangest thing you have ever heard a doctor say while transcribing? ...

A Map Of "real-time" U.S. Births And Deaths, Mostly BirthsDec 12, 2012
Chloe -- or Adele, Bristol, or Ivy. The link below is to a simulated "real-time" map showing documented births and deaths across the country while you watch. It may take a few seconds for something to happen after starting the simulation. Pretty soon you notice that the births far outnumber the deaths... But it's a misleading picture.  From USA Today: "Economy slows U.S. population growth. The U.S. population will be older and smaller than had been predicted just four years ag ...

Does Stupidity Run Among Nonthinkers? Writing Someone Else's VerbiageJul 01, 2014
as their own is not exactly thinking for themselves. After reading the same talking points from people on different sites, I saw that they aren't original thoughts...at least those against the Hobby Lobby decision...IOW, can't think for themselves?  Why do I say that? Here's why: "In her dissent, Ginsburg lays out a variety of procedures and drugs that could go uncovered if religious employers have their way: “blood transfusions (Jehovah’s Witnesses); antidepress ...

An 8-minute Video On Our Do-nothing Congress.Aug 05, 2013
I posted this as a response on another thread, but I think it deserves it's own thread.  It very clearly lays out our 113th congress' lack of productivity and some of the records it is breaking--for instance, the record of the 112th congress of passing the least number of bills since the 1940's. As we were losing jobs, certain members congress were formulating a plan to block, filibuster and obstruct any legislation the president approved of.  Pete Sessions had the ner ...

ObamaCare Is Getting Less Affordable By The MinuteMay 26, 2015
Health Reform: So much for the "affordable" part of the Affordable Care Act. Looks like ObamaCare premiums will rocket next year while sky-high deductibles make it too costly for many to see the doctor. Last Monday, IBD's Jed Graham broke the news that big insurers in six states "are seeking to raise rates an average 18.6% next year." BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee — which currently accounts for 70% of the ObamaCare enrollees in that state — is looking to increase premiums a whoppi ...

Email Farce Over? May Take A MinuteSep 16, 2015
Earlier this summer a State Department spokesperson told CNN that Hillary Clinton hadn’t broken and rules or policies with her use of email while Secretary of State, a revelation which was almost inexplicably ignored by most other news outlets. Than an FBI spokesperson told the New York Times that Clinton was not a target in their email investigation, which was focused on hackers; rather she was being viewed as the potential victim. Again, the major news of a second federal agency giving Clint ...

did she lie about her grandparents immigrating here from other countries, which was a lie, now it has been revealed that she once told Sir Edmund Hillary when she met him that her mother named her after him because he was such a hero climbing Mt Everest and all.  Come to find out, he climbed MT. E 6 years after she was born.  So then when she was confronted about this lie, she said, (paraphrasing) that her mother must have made it up because she admired Sir E H so much that she probabl ...

History: If No Last-minute Dem Shenanigan, R Wins And O Loses.Sep 20, 2012
Since Truman, no incumbent has been reelected with a poll number below 49% at this point in the election cycle.  I am omitting Bush 2, who had 48% but whose reelection ultimately had to be decided by the courts so I think you have to simply toss this election out when looking at voter trends. As a general rule, undecideds almost always break away from the incumbent, and they will surely do so in the current environment - both globally, domestically and economically - in all of which areas ...

First Time Ever (long-time Voter) Had This ProblemFeb 16, 2016
Every one of them has serious flaws, either of character, personality, world view, experience, or philosophy - and in most cases more than one of these - that I simply cannot stomach. In my experience, it's always a choice between the lesser of two evils, but this election cycle seems to have brought out a spectacularly miserable collection of candidates.  And yes, Sanders and Trump supporters, I mean them too - or perhaps especially them too. It looks like I'll be sitting on my ...

First, about Clapper's comment, which (paraphrased) is this:  "The idea that we're trolling through everyone's stuff is absurd - there's too much of it.  We couldn't do it if we wanted to." The falsehood:  Anyone who has actually been involved in creati ...

Sad Beyond WordsMay 03, 2014
My step-father and I have always been very close.  He started dating my mother almost 44 years ago.   My mom died almost five years ago.   I  have taken care of him, and visited and ate with him almost every day.  I moved in with him a few years back when he had a total hip replacement, and then had a seizure and lost his license for six months.  I did literally everything for him.  Since mom died I devoted my life to him.  In fact, I ...

Obama In His Own WordsFeb 29, 2012
Remember folks, these are Obama's words. On June 24, 2008, Obama said in demonizing Bush: What Washington has done is what Washington always does – it’s peddled false promises, irresponsible policy, and cheap gimmicks that might get politicians through the next election, but won’t lead America toward the next generation of renewable energy. And now we’re paying the price. Now we’ve fallen behind the rest of the world. Now we’re forced to beg Saudi Arabi ...
