What a great movie! Sure, it's a war movie, with lots of scenes where one may have to turn away and squinch one's eyes tightly closed. But, how refreshing to see a young soldier live up to his strong convictions against carrying a gun while being a courageous medic, saving countless lives. And it's all true. In the past, I watched a documentary about Desmond Doss. It stated that Japanese men had come forward, all telling the same story, how they had pointed their guns at Desmond and aimed, but every time they pulled the trigger, their guns misfired. I believe the angels were there protecting him. Just want to add that I too am an MT and I know going to a movie is a big deal these days what with the budget and all, but I picked this movie to splurge on and it was well worth it.
