This is the only soap opera that I watch thanks to many years as a child through my mom watching it. I grew up with this show!!! Now it is being canceled. I just can't believe it I mean after Guiding Light I thought the show was safe! The other soaps on other shows are thriving! I don't get it. That one about the witches and goblins is doing okay. This is the only one that I could get into because it had things in it that felt like it could happen and not everyone was rich. Maybe that is why it failed. Maybe people don't want to see people that are realistic.

I've had my share of t.v. addiction, however. I couldn't live without St. Elsewhere, for instance. West Wing was another fave. And these days I can't wait for Lost or The Tudors to come back on.

[ In Reply To ..]and they always do not call me when "my story" is on. Too cute! I actually missed school the day Kennedy was shot on November 22, 1963 when they broke into "As the World Turns" to tell us... I think that's when I got interested in following politics.

Growing up I watched soaps with mom, but after leaving home I got away and don't have much interest. Just didn't seem realistic to me. There are some shows that are like a soap opera and once you stop watching you really lose your place. Nip and Tuck was like that. I watched the season when the lady had the baby with the birth defect and she had a little girl also and a teenage son who thought his father was one guy and found out it was someone else. Then we moved to an area where I didn't get it and years later I saw the son married to his father's girlfriend, belonging to Scientology, taking drugs, the mother became a lesbian and I just really lost track.

The thing about the tudors is that you pretty much know what is going to happen being that it is based on King Henry VIII, but the guy that plays him is dreamy.

[ In Reply To ..]I may trim a little off my cable bill by canceling it. We used to have HBO, and the programming was MUCH better. Really good original stuff.... The Sopranos, Rome, Big Love, etc. The Tudors will be back for the final season in April, I think. I may hang on until then, but then it's good-bye Showtime.
