Another cat funny. I thought my black cat

he showed up at the door, crying, I urged him to come inside. I was wondering why he was so skittish and then I found out. As soon as I let him inside, he came face to face with my real black cat. I felt like a really bad mommy then; didn't even recognize my own cat.

Anyway, one night the mother of 6 kids came out of her bedroom to get water or something, and she saw what she thought was one of her kids standing in the hallway, and she said, "Go back to bed." The kid didn't respond,so she said, "I mean it, get back to bed right now."
Turns out, it was the doll.
SO, don't feel bad you didn't know your cat, this woman didn't even know her own kid!

[ In Reply To ..]That's nothing. One night my cat was out and he is a Maine Coon, by the way, and I told him to come in. I opened the door and there was a racoon. He ran away and I was wondering, Why did he run away? It turned out he was on the other side of the porch. I almost let in a racoon! LOL

One night my small cat sitting at the back door, very quiet. i looked out on my patio expecting to see either Priscilla or Peter, well imagine when I saw Charlie Coyote along with either Priscilla or Peter. First time for my seeing a coyote in my neighborhood.

[ In Reply To ..]supposed to be in a quite little bedroom community where you really do not see things like moose ever (saw a red fox 1 day here), no wolf and certainly not a badger, but hey that sounds like my kind of party! A guy recently gave me a trophy rock to attract deer to my yard. I love the deer around here but after reading the reviews kind of scared me because I don't want oodles of deer in my yard. I love them but sorta at a distance.

[ In Reply To ..]We used to live in a very wooded area. One day, we were in our backyard, and looked down a small embankment where another house was, and there peeping out of their small attic window was a racoon; then another, then another and another. There was a whole family living up there.
We called the neighbors to make sure the knew! They are NOT easy to evict, as they can certainly be nasty and you do have to worry about rabies and such.

[ In Reply To ..]One night several years ago I was asleep in bed, lying flat on my back, when I sensed what I thought was my cat jumping on the bed and walking across my chest. I remember petting it as it passed and saying something to the effect of "nice kitty, nice kitty." Then, not sure why, I sensed something amiss, sat straight up in bed, and reached for the lamp on the table next to the bed, turned it on, and was aghast to find a baby possum draped over the shade. Oh, CRAP! Feet start movin', I told myself, and within 2 seconds I was on the other side of the bedroom door.
I was so panicked and upset I started putting heavy books across across the gap at the bottom of the door. There was no way that possum could have squeezed under the door but I was taking no chances.
I knew I couldn't call Animal Regulation people until morning. Several minutes went by and I'm not sure what I was thinking but I decided to open the door and take a peek. As soon as I did, I heard a surprisingly loud growl from right behind the door. HOLY CRAP! Slammed that door shut, put the books back in place, and spent the night in the den behind a locked door. (I wasn't taking any chances :)
Long story short, my call was the first the Animal Reg people received that morning. They got there at 1:00 p.m., found the little guy curled up, fast asleep under the dresser. Took him into custody with no problem. Said they would relocate him. Yes, please...
I lived in a small house built in 1910 and was having work done in the bathroom adjacent to the bedroom and there was a very small gap in the wood floor around the pipe extending from underneath the house and that's how the critter got in.
I've gotten a lot of mileage out of this story over the years. :)
