To La-La Land People

I do have one question, all you people who think this kid was just led astray, needs a little help, guidance and forgiveness. How do you split yourselves up like that? How do you get around sympathizing with the killer (who truly meant harm) and also sympathize with the families? You can't have it both ways, you know.

I am not a black and white person, but this is just silly. You can say you feel sorry for the families, but yet you slap them in the face with forgiving the bomber. Are you serious?

Okay, maybe this man indeed needs Christ, but he doesn't want it and you can't make him. So, get your heads out of whatever sand you're in and put your energy to the victims' families, not on this evil-doer.

FYI: Someone who is just led a bit astray does not bomb someone. They might drink too much. They might do drugs. They might cut classes. They do NOT get involved in an organization who wants to kill Americans.

;

As Jesus was being killed, he said, "Father forgive them. - They don't know what they're doing."

We're commanded to forgive just as we have been forgiven.

We're also supposed to love our enemies. Jesus said, "Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! ... If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even scoundrels do that much. If you are friendly only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even the heathen do that."

No one here is promoting or accepting evil, and no one is suggesting that the people responsible for the bombing in Boston should not be punished according to our laws.

There are two standards of conduct: man's and God's. Society imposes consequences on those who commit certain crimes. However, every person is offered the undeserved gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, which he or she may accept or reject. While dying on the cross, Jesus said to the thief [edited to delete incorrect identification as Barabbas], "Today you will be with me in Paradise." Notice, though, that Jesus did not miraculously take away the earthly consequences of the thief's [edited] crime.

Love and forgiveness are very basic tenets of the Christian faith. They have nothing to do with hatred or evil.

They know exactly what - They are doing

[ In Reply To ..]
They meticulously plan these things for the purpose of destroying us. They are not in some sort of trance.

Geez.

Well stated - Trampled underfoot

I agree with your reply, although would like to remind you the thief on the cross was not Barabbas; Barabbas was the murderer who was released as the people called for Christ's death.

The Muslim faith is a very difficult and despairing one. Muslims are not guaranteed a place in paradise with one exception; those who are martyred for Jihad. I believe that is why the older brother died and why the younger did not; the older brother truly believed he would end up in paradise whereas the surviving one had at least a shadow of a doubt.

Thanks for pointing out my error about Barabbas - sm

Yes, you are right that Barabbas was the murderer. It's good to know that no one--liar, thief, hater, adulterer, or murderer--is beyond redemption.

It is truly heartbreaking to me that some will never accept that none of us can ever be good enough or by our own power or deeds get to heaven. However, when any person, no matter what their past beliefs or deeds, accepts the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus, it's always something about which to rejoice and be thankful.

Thanks for not taking offense - Trampled underfoot
[ In Reply To ..]
I was sure you knew who Barabbas was and just mis-spoke.

You're right; no one is beyond redemption on this side of the grave. I'm so thankful for that.

FORGIVENESS - my take anyway

[ In Reply To ..]
Forgiveness does not mean condoning, supporting someone, and it does not mean you can't have sympathy for victims/families. It means letting go of what they did and move on, peacefully, and let God (if you believe) take care of it.

Another Take - see msg

In my personal life (not including the bomber right now), I do not believe in blindly forgiving people who truly do not care about what they did. I also do not accept a simple "I'm sorry," just because they said so. They have to truly be sorry and truly make a change.

If one doesn't do that, I do believe in accepting it and moving on, though. Case in point: My own parents. Horrible abusive people. And hypocrites to boot. Church-going, pillars of the community, the whole 9 yards. They never once owned up to what they did to me and never apologized. So, how can one forgive someone who has not even asked for it? I don't play Jesus Christ and just forgive them. What I have done, though is accepted that they have done this to me, and I have moved on by breaking up with them. I sought no revenge. In the end, one could say that my moving on to have a good life without them is sort of a sweet revenge. But that was merely a positive end result. I choose not to hang out with horrible people, is what it boils down to. I choose not to hang out with child molesters or other type of abusers, family or not.

As to terrorists who want to destroy us, not a one of them asked for our forgiveness, nor do they give a hoot; their goal is to take over and kill us. My energy goes to the true victims of crime, not the perpetrators.

BLM Trying To Seize More Land - In TEXASApr 23, 2014
I believe this is all over GAS, OIL, and other energy sources like solar, geothermal, etc. since I read the BLM's own admission that Nevada is one of the "most favorable" states for all of the above. Then they also admitted how some land they will sell to oil and gas producers and other land they will lease to the same. So, will they use strong arm tactics like they did in the Bundy Bungle with semi-automatic weapons, dogs and tasers to seize the land from the land owners? This is absolutely ...

Supreme Court Overturns Objection To Cross On Public LandApr 29, 2010
By Robert Barnes Washington Post Staff Writer Thursday, April 29, 2010  A splintered Supreme Court displayed its deep divisions over the separation of church and state Wednesday, with the court's prevailing conservatives signaling a broader openness to the idea that the Constitution does not require the removal of religious symbols from public land.
