SS Retirement and Stuff - see msg

It sounds like you're a very caring person and want to help, but you know that doling out money (whether you have it or not) is not truly helpful to her.

It depends on where her birthday falls in the month as to when she'll start drawing SS benefits. It is paid in arrears, so she should NOT depend on her paycheck coming the 1st of the month, or on her actual birth date.

I live in Florida, and there is so much for the homeless, that I wonder if it's really, truly helpful. Almost all the churches have free meals, clothes and packaged goods. They can get a shower on a regular basis. They just go from place to place at will, and have everything they need, for free. And, they get to camp in the woods for free. Nobody else is allowed that privilege anymore, because law enforcement was trying to stop the homeless from setting up camps. However, all it did was keep hard-working citizens from pitching a tent on a weekend and grilling up some burgers.

There was so much panhandling by the homeless in our area that they needed to enforce the no panhandling laws. However, that included our firemen. They can no longer hold out the boot at intersections unless they pay for a permit.

It goes on and on.
