the priority and that for families with children. Maybe to help keep the lights on in some cases, but she needs a lot of money to get a place. Churches don't have that kind of money for one person.
I tried to get help a few years ago when I was a few days away from homeless and also a single older woman completely alone. I got nothing. I begged every church in town, every place I could find for any kind of assistance. I got nothing.
As much as people like to think churches have bags of money stacked up in the basement to hand out to everyone who asks - they don't.
