broadband rules. Facebook and Google have always been protected because they worked with Obama. All Trump did was say this is not fair, so other should be allowed to do it too. It was the Obama administration who actually put restrictions on the internet service providers — the content providers — in order to protect political donors, Facebook and Google. Of course, it's being reported as just the opposite. ;

This sure did give Google and Facebook an unfair - advantage. I don't use either.

internet service providers (ISPs). They are websites on ISPs. The privacy rule applies to ISPs like Verizon, Comcast, and in my case Cox Communications. You are comparing 2 very different animals here. I do not want my ISP to be able to sell my browser history, so oppose this rule change.

Google and Facebook are not Internet Service Providers. The law was for Internet Service Providers - Cox, Comcast, Verizon, anyone that you get you internet service from. The law was to prevent them from selling your info.

The solution to this would be to deny Google and Facebook the right to do it, like Verizon and AT&T were not allowed to by virtue of the Obama administration. This is just the implementation of fairness.
