You seem to be putting the cart before the horse. As of now, we don't know who the GOP candidate is going to be. I also do not see how Trump putting the heat on the president to show his long-form BC instantly gives Obama a win anyway. Let us look at the big picture here. Our economy is still failing. We have 2 wars started by Bush and a democratic congress and Obama has continued and air strikes on Libya started by Obama without approval from congress at all. We have increased violence at the Mexico border. Even though unemployment numbers have gone down some, they are still high. Now we have high gas prices and our president pretty much doesn't give a rip because he thinks it will decrease our use of fossil fuels...which would be great IF we had a feasible alternative fuel source to go to. BUT WE DON'T.

This whole "birther" issue and our president being pressured into showing something he should have done a long time ago by a guy with an extremely bad comb over is not something I'd consider a guaranteed win for Obama in 2012.

There are too many pi$$ed off Americans who see our country is headed in the wrong direction. Obama has lost the backing of a lot of independents who initially voted for him in 2008. So don't count your chickens before they hatch. We have a long road to go because 2012 election.

That so many Americans could be this lulled by the fancy words and empty promises that they would do that to us again. Maybe people should be able to take an aptitude test and actually pass before voting. Now before anybody jumps all over me for that it can go both ways. Would you want the other party to win if there were a bunch of idiots out voting for them and they were a "slick willie" and had no experience yet your candidate did. Kind of reminds of of the show So You Think You Can Dance where they best dancers compete. People call in and vote for the winner. Every year this one guy who calls himself Mr. Sex tries out. Well lets just say he can't dance, but if he had thousands and thousands of "idiots" call in and vote for him would that be right? No. I think people should at least know the issues they are voting on.

All I say is whoever is elected I hope the next term is better than this one.

I never really saw what the big deal was about the BC - I just figured if he was running against the Clinton's and they didn't find anything, there wasn't anything to find.

The first mistake Obama made with this was to let Trump call him out. Sure, he's now shown his BC, but he's now made it look like Trump has some kind of power to get things done - getting things done is a good trait in a president - and please don't read into this as me being a Trump supporter - I'm not.

The second mistake Obama made was to then make the announcement himself that he has released his BC. If he has so many other pressing issues (which he does), he should have left this one to his press secretary, who should have given it a byline and moved on. By doing this, Obama makes it appear that he was distracted by the whole BC issue, which just gave Trump more fuel for his fire.

The third mistake Obama made was to make this announcement today - on the day that Bernanke gave his speech about the feds, printing money, inflation, etc. Now everyone is talking about the BC and not about the fed. I'm not saying this was intentional, although I wouldn't put it past any political adviser to suggest this move. Intentional or not, it gives the appearance of trying to be a distraction to just how bad things are and may continue to get.

Bad moves all around by Obama, but at least the BC is out there and everyone can get over it (hopefully) and move on.
