Thankfully, we can probably forget about an immigration bill (sm)

There’s widespread doubt about whether this administration can be trusted to enforce our laws,” Boehner told reporters in Washington today. “It’s going to be difficult to move any immigration legislation until that changes.”

Define 'widespread'... lets dismantle this statement - just for fun

There’s widespread doubt about whether this administration can be trusted to enforce our laws,” Boehner told reporters in Washington today.

That is apparently Boehner's opinion. Fair enough, he's entitled to one.

But then, on THAT predication, he states:

“It’s going to be difficult to move any immigration legislation until that changes.”

In other words he bases the concept of 'moving on with immigration reform' on WHETHER OR NOT this so-called widespread doubt of Obama's ability to enforce our laws changes...

talk about being able to move the goal posts to suit an agenda! What a nothing statement! and how easily parroted HERE as if it means something.

How 'bout we try this? Score another for the Tea Party. (sm) - LM

"We pushed the Speaker hard to understand that until the border is secure, it doesn't make sense to even discuss reforms, and the Speaker FINALLY CAME TO OUR SENSES,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) said in an email to Breitbart News.

Voters want immigration reform. Again, this is a simple story that all people who live in the real world will readily understand.

TP is completely destroying the GOP. and by doing so is also hurting America.
Most voters do not want immigration reform UNTIL - the present borders are secure.

Why was everything on the right track regarding an immigration bill until the recent Republican retreat?

The fact is Republicans are not going to move on immigration reform for political reasons:

"At their retreat in Maryland last week, many Republicans rejected outright the House leadership’s one-page “standards for immigration reform.” Others said that, with trends going their way as midterm elections approach, it was a bad time to take on a number of contentious issues."

...so they don't want people to judge them on contentious issues. They'd rather have them be judged on no issues, which is all they've done.

but only after his plan was not accepted by his fellow republicans - then he

Keeping in mind that during this administration more illegals have been deported than any in the past.

Yes, but most have left on their own accord - because BO economy is so bad.

It's very telling when Congress has lost trust in the president. Who can blame them though? I certainly can't. Once lied to, the trust is gone forever. Like a cheating spouse...once lied to, it's over. You can NEVER be trusted again.

Harry Reid stops Senate immigration bill at House border; deal loses momentum The Washington Times Monday, July 29, 2013 The immigration bill passed the Senate more than a month ago but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is refusing to send the bill to the House — just one of the hurdles that has sapped momentum and dimmed the chances for an immigration deal this year. Tax Refunds To Illegals Under Obama Immigration Action Would Be Stopped By BillMar 10, 2015
Whatever one thinks of the President Obama’s aggressive executive action on immigration—which is still being litigated in the courts—tax refunds for the affected illegal immigrants has itself become controversial. The IRS says that illegals can file and claim refunds for the last three years under the Earned Income Tax Credit. That is the same refundable tax credit that is responsible for billions in fraudulent refunds. IRS Commissioner Koskinen confirm ...

Click on O's pic and you can play the video. BTW, I applaud AZ for taking matters into their own hands since the government has been so lax in protecting its citizens from crimes committed by illegals. Obama Immigration Fix:Mar 03, 2015
4 Million Illegals, Who Never Paid U.S. Tax, Get 3 Years Of Tax Refunds You have to admit it sounds crazy. The normal rule is that the IRS can audit for three years, so you can usually go back three years to amend your return or claim a credit you forgot. What if you never had any income or never filed a return? Just wait. Since an illegal immigrant under President Obama’s executive action can now get a Social Security Number, the immigrant road map is c ...
