Bernard “Bernie” Sanders was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 8, 1941, to Polish immigrants of Jewish descent. After attending Brooklyn College for one year, he transferred to the University of Chicago (UC) and earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1964. At UC, Sanders joined the Young Peoples Socialist League (youth wing of the Socialist Party USA) as well as the Congress of Racial Equality and the Student Peace Union. He also was an organizer for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, worked briefly for the communist-led United Packinghouse Workers Union, and participated in an American Friends Service Committee project at a California psychiatric hospital.

blogger's opinions before you judge them as fact? I wonder why such an interest in steering American political discussion? Bernie has proudly always declared himself to be a socialist, also a democratic progressive, an independent thinker, and more honest than any politician I have ever known. He is NOT a communist! That is all I have to say on the matter except that we are happy to keep him right where he is, in the Senate for Vermont. He and Elizabeth Warren are needed right where they are!

I am a proud Vermonter and very proud of Bernie Sanders. He is a wonderful man and has helped this state. Please don't comment on something/someone you know nothing about except newspapers who sensationalize just for sales. Use a little critical thinking and look for facts not rumors or speculation.

No different when Obama admitted repeatedly to his drug use and selling drugs, his followers still refuse to believe the words from Obama's mouth and in his book.
