I think Democrats and Republicans both want to keep the country divided and distracted while they rob us blind.

I think we need the benefit of perspective here. It takes a lot more than hard times to turn a superpower into a third world country, or to foment the kind of anarchy that would cause citizens to have to fight their neighbors for what they have. Your outlook sounds pretty bleak.

I'm guessing that you didn't grow up during the 60s - a period of true civil unrest. I'm also guessing that you have never visited the third world or a communist country, for if you had, you would understand that your assessment has more to do with hype than reality.

Having lived through coummunist rule, its brutality and total disregard for the population, those on this board that refuse to actually look at what Obama is doing, are speeding up the process with their misinformation and complete ignorance of what happens with communist rule.

I listened and watched a speech by Obama yesterday where stated he wanted wealth and prosperity proportionately distributed and shared by all. By whose guidelines..Obama's? This by the same man who has never sent a dime to his half-brother in Africa (who lives on about $20.00 a month), or the rest of his family living in Africa, many of whom do not have water, inside toilets or electricity - Obama is your typical communist, hypocritical mouthpiece. NO INCOME LIMIT WAS EVER STATED in Obama's speech; so there goes the bogus claim of $250,000 or higher being the only ones affected. What makes the few that think they are so politically evolved think they are not going to have their "stuff" taken and given to someone else? They are so naive it would be laughable if it were not so serious.

First step in govt. takeovers is to take all firearms away from all people. Check out the massive firearms the govt. has been stockpiling, by their explanation to control "riots". Riots started by whom?

I was reading the posts from yesterday where a poster listed types of regimes (Obama included) for the benefit of others. The first post after had nothing to do with thoughtful reflection of the post, but immediately attacked, stating OP "forgot" fascism. Really? Shows the degree of childishness and lack of knowledge regarding what happens to real people under these regimes.

You have a poster that goes on about her all-encompassing heartache for Syrians (which is not my point here), and then turns around with a venomous attack on other posters sinply because they disagree with her or challenge her position. Are people on this board truly so blind to their own bad behavior? Do they write those insults because they can hide? Is it just to incite? All 3 are poor excuses; then, they attack politicians for not getting along!! That type of behavior continues to breed discontent and class warfare, divsion of the masss, which is exactly what Obama is pushing for.

Nowhere did I claim this is "much ado about nothing" - rather, I suggested perspective was in order. Nor did I tell others "to go live in a communist country". How hilarious. I would not wish that on anyone, and I certainly do not regard communist society as a "utopia".

I am not aware of a massive government stockpiling of firearms to control riots. I am acutely aware, however, of orchestrated police suppression of peaceable assembly - a serious threat to our democrary - and one the right is happy to cheer on when it involves OWS.

there's a lot of FINANCIAL tension, and it's getting worse by the day. I think there are a lot of people who used to be considered minorities, who aren't necessarily minorities anymore. In CA, for instance Hispanics are no longer a minority, they are the majority. Yet they and many people of color are frequently touched by poverty, predatory lending, foreclosures, unfair labor practices, etc.

If a war were to break out in the US, I really don't think it would be a race war, it would be a CLASS war.
