The whole thiing is interesting but at about 7 minutes she talks specificallly about her comments on the Wisconsin budget.

Let me get this straight.

When someone at MSNBC misspeaks, it's a blooper.

When someone at CNN misspeaks, it's a "teaching moment."

When someone at Fox misspeaks, we go after their advertisers and that person should be taken off the air?

Did you watch RM's video? She's not actually admitting to any mistakes... she's defending herself (and Shep at one point) against being accused of providing false information... with an explanation and facts. She's also calling out other sources who won't admit that they're wrong. The only time she admits to a mistake is toward the end where she revisits an error that she's already apologized for. She even goes as far as to defend the way she looks. The point is, if you screw up, own up to it. If someone accuses you of screwing up when you didn't, defend yourself.

Now, I provided the Fox link on the same basis. They messed up. Whether it was an honest oopsie or an intentional distortion of facts in order to back up their opinion isn't clear. They apologized without much effort or an explanation, and that's what I'm waiting for... an explanation. How did that mess up happen? Is a pie chart really THAT hard to read?

Look... it's all news with a spin. But it should still be based on FACTS. Not distorted information with a brief apology or disclaimer at the end.

I'm not saying that anyone should be taken off the air... just get it right. When you consistently don't, that means you're incompetent and unreliable.

the entire 12 minutes. I also watched her show when she originally spoke of the Wisconsin debt. You have to watch her entire segment that she did on Wisconsin and not just the short snippet (9 words) she threw in this video explanation.

Here's a little of what came before and after her snippet that she used for her defense to Politifact:

"IÃ¢ï¿½ï¿½m here to report that there is nothing wrong in the state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin is fine. Wisconsin is great, actually. Despite what you may have heard about WisconsinÃ¢ï¿½ï¿½s finances, Wisconsin is on track to have a budget surplus this year."

and...

"A lot of states do have budget crises right now, but heading into this year, Wisconsin was not one of them."

These are the types of statements that Politifact determined were false.

And then to play the gay card at the end was purely pathetic. Who the heck cares if she's gay? Give me a break.

I agree, it should be based on FACTS. That also means she should verify that websites are not satire before she takes it as real factual news and then dedicates a segment on her show slamming Palin. Credible? I'm just sayin.

I've got the local respiratory creeping crud. Saw the doc and he prescribed prednisone. The pharmacist had to call him back today. I'm an acute care MT. I have been taking notice lately of the emphasis on how many hospitalizations a patient has had within the prior 12 months from the most recent visit. All for seniors (over 60) and seemingly with an effort, urge or suggestion to transition to DNR/DNI status. Are the death panels auditing these hospitals?
