Nobody here on this board ever claimed him to be a newscaster. He has always been just a talk show. Just like O'Reilly, Olberman, Maddow, etc. They do not provide news. They are show hosts that talk about issues going on. Well count Olberman and Maddow out - they just spread hate, but O'Reilly, Beck, etc. They do not provide news, but they do provide us with issues going on in our country.

Sorry that's a threat to most, but its not going away.

I remember a little thing called investigative journalism and the days when we received a steady dose of it with our nightly news. Venues that spend an hour focused on examining a few select subjects in greater depth than broadcast sound bytes potentially qualify, although the days of protracted investigative journalism (reporters who immerse themselves in a given story and follow it for months at a time) I am afraid are gone with the wind, at least on cable TV. Thank God for PBS and Pacifica, where it remains intact.

Fox falsehoods immediately eliminate them from this category but CNN and MSNBC present verifiable hard data that frustrates the beegeebers out of their opponents because they cannot refute it with their endless spew. Hence, it does rise to the level of investigative journalism to some degree, especially Rachel Maddow.

So its all about the money after all, huh, or as he puts it, - coinage for controversy. sm

Hello. A virtual money-grubbing controversy machine. Now what do you suppose that says about the integrity of the content of his commentary? Personally, I am waiting for the day Beck shoots his mouth off one too many times behind an open mike he thinks is dead and starts berating his mindless followers. He certainly does not seem to have a whole lot of concern or conscience about the consequences of his actions or whom he is affecting and how. But then again, this is what common greed will do to a person. What kind of people would cast this goon as a hero?
