Tagg (what's with these names?) is claiming Daddy Warbucks didn't actually want to run for prez. Yeah, right, twice. I suppose we'll be seeing this nitwit as a future nominee/loser before too long. *blech*

1. Nothing wrong with the name Tagg, nor is there anything wrong with Todd, Roger, Tito, Mick, Orville, etc, etc, etc.

2. Who is "Daddy Warbucks". If you're talking about super rich then you're talking about Obama himself. If you're talking about war and in war mongerer then you are also talking about Obama. Except he doesn't have a son (or maybe he does)

Now, isn't that interesting to consider? These questions leapt to mind when I read Tagg's statements. Why did he run then?

For me, an answer also immediately leapt to mind, but then, I've always felt sure Romney's religion plays a much larger role in his decision-making than the press indicated. How could it be an enormous part of the rest of his life, but not part of his running for the presidency twice? (They seemed to think they were reporting on a social event they were attending and that discussing religion would be in bad taste. Group think--THAT's idiocy.)

Tagg doesn't go on about it, but religion's in his statement: "He had no desire, the eldest Romney son said. If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside. He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them, but he has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesn't love the attention."

"BUT he has deep faith in god and he loves his country." What's God doing in this discussion of why Romney ran if he didn't play a role? Romney has said that he has dedicated his life and everything he has to serving God; and, completely true or not, he probably believes it himself--this is normal for very devout people.

BTW, it's not hard for me to believe Romney found running for election very painful. He worked very long and hard at getting adequate at it, but that's the best he managed in several years of struggle. He so obviously doesn't enjoy being with strangers, much less intensely schmoozing and glad-handing them, yet campaigning means almost nothing but. Constantly. We don't know just how big his ego is, but he took a terrible beating the first time around, and the second too. (And it continues.)

In any case, all this might even make one wonder, what would YOU do if you were worried that God was calling you to do something big you didn't want to? Take a ragged, scared breath and step up to the job, or just call him an idiot? :)
