No Death Star for us.

Posted: Jan 17, 2013

But probably plenty of time wasted with these ridiculous petitions that have been circulating recently. Is this a new phenomenon? Does anyone know?

Yeah the Death Star one was alright, - RC

and you know, it probably would have employed a lot of people. ;)

And with all the seceding petitions, it would have been interesting to see how we would have all gotten along as 50 tiny countries. Kind of like Europe!

Unfortunate, but from the White House: "the administration does - not support blowing up planets." :)nm

The administration just made the new online petition system to connect with the people. Of course, childish and irresponsible people, much like myself, can't be trusted with such power.

Honestly, this is yet another failure on Obama's part regarding jobs. That Death Star would have meant jobs.

Well, at least Jones, Nugent, Lapierre, Beck and Yeager can sleep well knowing that Obama won't have to take away their X-wing starfighters.

Sometimes, I look at all this through Obama's eyes and think "Wow, how does he do it?" Accusations of being Muslim or a terrorist, demands to build a Death Star, pathetic attempts by idiots to secede from the very Union that keeps their worthless, bloated welfare states afloat, hideous threats and insults to his family, accusations of using children as human shields, lawsuits from companies that he saved from the brink of collapse, comparisons to Hitler, etc.

Why does Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize? Because four years into this he hasn't ordered drone strikes on Fox News. If I were president and dealing with this, I would have called a State of the Union and announced that psychologically, often the things we fear the most are the things we secretly want and I take that to mean that people want a dictator. Welcome to the Soviet Nazi States of Americastan! :)

Not to mention - RC

[ In Reply To ..]
the whole, "We're not going to let you do your job!", and then cries of "You didn't do your job!" conundrum.

Soviet Nazi States of Americastan--LOL

I suppose for people like my dad and brother, who are more than likely fervently in the process of blowing their life savings on bomb shelters and stockpiling weapons, the idea of that finally coming to fruition is a pretty tasty one--I mean, imagine the "I told you so"'s that could ensue!

That's the great thing about doomsayers - Fanatical Hypocrite

One day human civilization will end - as all things do. And since tons of people, every day, say that tomorrow will be the end, when civilization is destroyed, a lot of people are going to get to say "I told you so."

I miss the Mayan apocalypse. That was a fun one. It was so ridiculous and yet I know so many people who really got into it and were terrified. It would be like if I died, then 10 months from now someone comes in and finds me dead and sees that all the calendars in my house end 12/31/13. What's the significance? What did I think would happen on that day? Or is it because I'm dead and I can't get a new calendar? The only thing really astounding about the Mayans is that they made calendars that went out that far.

There was a thing on the History channel (which now divides its airtime into quarters: 1. Hitler. 2. Aliens. 3. Watching other people do their job - poorly. 4. Space Hitler) where they were showing the calendar and interpreting it. There's a picture of a demon dumping out a bucket of water and they're saying "This could mean there will be catastrophic floods." Really? It could also mean it's laundry day for monsters.

So, in case you've never been there, I enclose the link to the Vivos doom bunker website. Your father and brother can stop digging bomb shelters, there's ones already made. They come with their own weapons and I think Wednesdays are Sloppy Joe night.
I don't even know where to begin. - RC

Those shelters are awesome, but I must say, if it came down to it, I hope I go down with the ship. Because if I did survive? I'd probably be expected to help repopulate the planet and I can't say I have any interest in that, especially given the fact that the only options I'd have for potential mate material (not to mention friends) would be a bunch of paranoid survivalists, and what would we have to talk about once the end of the world has already happened?

I suppose we could start planning for the *next* end of the world...but I'm really getting ahead of myself here.

OMG, the only thing more perfect - sm

The only thing that could make this post more perfect is if you could have done it in Palin-Speak, winky, winky.

This just warms the cockles of my heart.

Ty. I needed that. It is like, really, really cold today.

Last paragraph:

"Searching petitions by popularity, the most signatures have gone to a petition to 'LEGALLY RECOGNIZE WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH AS A HATE GROUP.' Other top petitions include support for the MANDATORY LABELING OF GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOODS, REPEALING OBAMACARE and REPEALING THE DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT."

Are you against these, or just the Death Star?

Well, I'm not really *against* any of them - RC

[ In Reply To ..]
I just think some are silly.

Addressing the specifics you mentioned:

LEGALLY RECOGNIZE WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH AS A HATE GROUP. Yes, I'd support that.

MANDATORY LABELING OF GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOODS. I support that and also voted for it in the California election.

REPEALING OBAMACARE. I wouldn't sign that petition.

REPEALING THE DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT. I would sign that one.

My Sons Death On 12/23/09Jan 25, 2010
My son passed away on 12/23/09.  He was found barely breathing and EMS called.  Autopsy showed really nothing and we don't have the results back from toxicology back yet.  I have obtained his medical records and it is one mess of errors in every way possible. One of the things I found out is that EMS did an incorrect endotracheal tube placement in that they put the tube in the esophagus.  That is quite common but usually is found immediately upon listening to the chest a ...

Why Are Supporters Of The Death PenaltyOct 01, 2015
I know the system can be flawed. I know sometimes the wrong person is convicted of stealing, or whatever. But, when the penalty has escalated to the death penalty, any doubt, any evidence, no matter when it is found, nothing matters, it all should be considered and we should never put a person to death if there is any doubt at all. So many seem so eager and interested in the process that the actual cases do not really matter. This is such a vengeful society, at least when it suits. ...
