[ In Reply To ..]Most farmers don't have tons of acres - if they survive it will be because they have been working hard for generations to take care of themselves and still know how to take care of themselves without help from the government. And don't start in on government subsidies to farmers - that's another subject -I'm talking about the small farmer who will survive because they have a small piece of ground on which to raise food to feed the family, maybe lucky enough to have a few cows, sheep, pigs, etc. Sounded silly when my dad, who went through the great depression, told me "as long as you have a little piece of land, you can survive anything...." Now it sounds almost like he foresaw the future......he has been gone almost 25 years.....
