You mean like posting trite drivebys instead of - "refutiating" tparty racism/extremism?

[ In Reply To ..]
Whats the matter? Cat got your tongue? In this case, no answer speaks volumes. Evidently, civil dialogue is not the tea party's strong suit, just as the link suggests. Denial does not make racism and extremism (poof) vanish into thin air. Why not try a more direct approach?

You can say grass is purple for all I care, does not mean it's the truth.

I went to the link but immediately left because it is a malicious/not safe site.

Nobody has been able to ever prove there is any racism or violence in the tea parties (because there is none). Until you can prove otherwise this is a dead topic.

This is from the NBPP website.

What the New Black Panthers Want

What the New Black Panthers Believe

1. We want freedom. We want the power to practice self-determination, and to determine the destiny of our community and THE BLACK NATION.

We believe in the spiritual high moral code of our Ancestors. We believe in the truths of the Bible, Quran, and other sacred texts and writings. We believe in MAAT and the principles of NGUZO SABA. We believe that Black People will not be free until we are able to determine our Divine Destiny.

2. We want full employment for our people and we demand the dignity to do for ourselves what we have begged the white man to do for us.

We believe that since the white man has kept us deaf, dumb and blind, and used every dirty trick in the book to stand in the way of our freedom and independence, that we should be gainfully employed until such time we can employ and provide for ourselves.

We believe further in: POWER IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE! WEALTH IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE! ARMS IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE!

3. We want tax exemption and an end to robbery of THE BLACK NATION by the CAPITALIST. We want an end to the capitalistic domination of Africa in all of its forms: imperialism, criminal settler colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, sexism, zionism, Apartheid and artificial borders.

We believe that this wicked racist government has robbed us, and now we are demanding the overdue debt of reparations. A form of reparations was promised 100 years ago (forty acres and a mule) as restitution for the continued genocide of our people and to in meaningful measure and repair the damage for the AFRICAN HOLOCAUST (Maangamizo/Maafa).

We believe our people should be exempt from ALL TAXATION as long as we are deprived of equal justice under the laws of the land and the overdue reparations debt remains unpaid. We will accept payment in fertile and mine rally rich land, precious metals, industry, commerce and currency. As genocide crimes continue, people's tribunals must be set up to prosecute and to execute.

The Jews were given reparations. The Japanese were given reparations. The Black, the Red and the Brown Nations must be given reparations. The American white man owes us reparations. England owes us reparations. France owes us reparations, Spain and all of Europe. Africa owes us reparations and repatriation. The Arabs owe us reparations. The Jews owe us reparations. All have taken part in the AFRICAN HOLOCAUST and the slaughter of 600 million of our people over the past 6,000 years in general and 400 year in particular. We know that this is a reasonable and just demand that we make at this time in history.

4. We want decent housing, fit for shelter of human beings, free health-care (preventive and maintenance). We want an end to the trafficking of drugs and to the biological and chemical warfare targeted at our people. We believe since the white landlords will not give decent housing and quality health care to our Black Community, the he housing, the land, the social, political and economic institutions should be made into independent UUAMAA New African Communal/Cooperatives so that our community, with government reparations and aid (until we can do for ourselves) can build and make drug free, decent housing with health facilities for our people.

5. We want education for our people that exposes the true nature of this devilish and decadent American society. We want education that teaches us our true history/herstory and our role in the present day society. We believe in an educational system that will give our people a knowledge of self. If we do not have knowledge of self and of our position in society and the world, then we have little chance to properly relate to anything else.

6. We want all Black Men and Black Women to be exempt from military service.

We believe that Black People should not be forced to fight in the military service to defend a racist government that holds us captive and does not protect us. We will not fight and kill other people of color in the world who, like Black People, are being victimized by the white racist government of America. We will protect ourselves from the force and violence of the racist police and the racist military, by any means necessary.

7. We want an immediate end to POLICE HARRASSMENT, BRUTALITY and MURDER of Black People. We want an end to Black-on-Black violence, snitching, cooperation and collaboration with the oppressor.

We believe we can end police brutality in our community by organizing Black self-defense groups (Black People's Militias/Black Liberation Armies) that are dedicated to defending our Black Community from racist, fascist, police/military oppression and brutality. The Second Amendment of white America's Constitution gives a right to bear arms. We therefore believe that all Black People should unite and form an African United Front and arm ourselves for self-defense.

8. We want freedom for all Black Men and Black Women held in international, military, federal, state, county, city jails and prisons.

We believe that all Black People and people of color should be released from the many jails and prisons because they have not received a fair and impartial trial. Released means released to the lawful authorities of the Black Nation.

9. We want all Black People when brought to trial to be tried in a court by a jury of their peer group or people from their Black Communities, as defined by white law of the Constitution of the United States.

We believe that the courts should follow their own law, if their nature will allow (as stated in their Constitution of the United States) so that Black People will receive fair trials. The 6th Amendment of the United States Constitution gives a man/woman a right to an impartial trial, which has been interpreted to be a fair trial by one's peer group. A peer is a person from a similar economic, social, religious, geographical, environmental, historical and racial background. To do this, the court will be forced to select a jury from the Black Community from which the Black defendant came. We have been and are being tried by all white juries that have no understanding of the average reasoning person of the Black Community.

10. WE DEMAND AN END TO THE RACIST DEATH PENALTY AS IT IS APPLIED TO BLACK AND OPPRESSED PEOPLE IN AMERICA. WE DEMAND FREEDOM FOR ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS OF THE BLACK RED AND BROWN NATION!

We want land, bread, housing, education, clothing, justice and peace. And, as our political objective, we want NATIONAL LIBERATION in a separate state or territory of our own, here or elsewhere, a liberated zone (New Africa or Africa), and a plebiscite to be held throughout the BLACK NATION in which only we will be allowed to participate for the purposes of determining our will and DIVINE destiny as a people. FREE THE LAND! UP YOU MIGHTY NATION! YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH WHAT YOU WILL! BLACK POWER! History has proven that the white man is absolutely disagreeable to get along with in peace. No one has been able to get along with the white man. All the people of color have been subjected to the white man's wrath. We believe that his very nature will not allow for true sharing, fairness, equity and justice. Therefore, to the Red Man and Woman, to the Yellow and to the Brown, we say to you

THE SAME RABID DOG THAT BIT YOU, BIT US TOO! ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

Thank you for posting that. I had never read that or knew what their beliefs were. It's pretty darn creepy reading some of those things. I had mixed feelings, from "okay I understand what you are saying", to "well that is what all people want", to "are you still living in the 1800s", to "are you even here on planet earth". The only thing they forgot to add into the document is that they "want all crackers and cracker babies dead". If this is the mentality of the people in the democrat party...no thank you. Until we get some good people in any party I will forever belong to no party.

It always happens when they are desperate. Instead of thinking rationally and discussing issues calmly out comes the attacks. I especially see it in a lot of ads coming out now. They will go on CNN or MSNBC or read in the Huffington posts that republicans are "attacking" democrats in their ads, but then you watch the commercials and you see democrats attacking the republicans against anything. And there are some pretty bad ads out there. I do believe its a mental disease with a lot of them as they'll sit with a straight face and not even think about what they are saying. Their desperation to get reelected keeps them from any logical thinking. And when they talk they speak as though its their right and they own the position. Most of the time they come off being pathetic.

I won't be so bold to say that I "know" the election will be a sweep, because one can never tell. Right before the elections is usually when the democrats are pulling out all steaks to do anything to remain in power, but I do hope that more republicans will win so we can bring back some balance to congress.

But I do agree with the desperation thing too. I can see them coming out full force to attack. Funny how not one person has come out and said I believe this person (any democrat) should win because they have done good for the people of the area. They are just too busy attacking republicans.

One more time. When image perceptions are at stake - truth and proof are not relevant.
[ In Reply To ..]
There are bookoos of proof for those of us who have been paying attention to the tparty behaviors ever since they crashed onto the political stage, but (play it again, Sam) truth and proof are not the issue here. Image perceptions are the name of the game, and endless loop discussions about sayin it aint so and put-up-or-shut-up challenges are not going to change the fact that the tparty has racist and extremist image perception problems of their own making.

Current political media dialog focuses a great deal of time on the "communication problems" the dems have over what they consider to be their accomplishments. Dems acknowledge that their leaders are doing a very poor job of relating this information, meaning that there is nobody to blame here but themselves, and it is an endless source of frustration for them. That is their onus going into this election cycle.

This image problem is the tea party's onus, like it or not. They have not sufficiently addressed the the endless barrage of reports, instances, voting records and other behaviors that have left indelible PERCEPTIONS behind of racism and extremism. No amount of self-righteous indignation, denials, table-turning or other meaningless dodge tactics we have come to expect from them is going to change this huge piece of unfinished business the tparty is still refusing to address, even this late in the game. In fact, this strategy only serves to bolster the negative image they so vociferously claim does not exist, thus enabling their opposition to gain traction and momentum and to use this strategic weakness against them. If this were not the case, you would not be so persistent in trying to shout it down.

Bottom line. The if-I-can't-see-it-it-can't-hurt-me mindset is counterprodutive.
And one more time...their image is pretty darn good right now - see message

You don't like them, hence are jumping on the bandwagon with all the people in a panic saying the tea party people have a bad image.

There is nothing wrong with their image and over half the country are in agreement with them - even a lot of democrats.

Just because you think their image is bad doesn't mean it's true. Talk to OVER half the country. They are glad the tea party people are there. Everyone is glad that finally there are politicians speaking up for the people and the people finally are getting their voices heard.

Tea parties are a good thing whether or not you want to believe it. And once again OVER one half of the country has a favorable perception of them. Just because a few sheople don't like them does not mean they are favored poorly. Sorry, I'll go with the majority of the country.

The dems have not concentrated on their accomplishments, if any. They have concentrated on negative ads against the pubs from the beginning. From the governor races down to the local county races, it's the same thing...and they use the same words. Pubs started doing the same thing.

Give me the good ole days when those compaigning would speak of their accomplishments or what they want to accomplish and maybe then, there wouldn't be this crap they call public service messages. They are far from public service messages.

Can't wait until this is over. One local TV station runs 3 political ads in a row EVERY time. It's sickening. I've also noted a lot of new groups campaigning that i never even heard of;  I can't name any off the top of my head but half of them are complete lies.

It's absolutely disgusting.

The tparty definitely has a myriad of image problems, dear...ones that are going to strongly affect which way those crucial independent and moderate GOP voters are going to be casting their ballots (especially the ones who the tpottiers are trying to banish from the GOP for not towing the tparty line, according to queen bee sp the almighty). Perceptions trump proof, rendering it fairly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

How about if I said to you - Obama murdered a bunch of babies, or Pelosi drowned her dog, or Obama beat up his wife and daughters or Reid called a man a racial slur and beat him to a pulp until he died and threw rocks at people. All those things would be lies, and would prove that people who throw out accusations like that which are definitely not true is mentally deranged. The only way to respond to the delusions of the people who hate the tea parties and their accusations is to just ignore the irrational thinking they have. It's like how you deal with patients who are institutionalized. You don't play into their delusions. To say "denial does not make it all go poof" is in your mind because there is nothing to go "poof".

Nobody has ever once shown any proof to back up their allegations. You just have the politicians who one day got it through their lame brains to make an insane accusation. "The tea party people are racist and violent". When asked to back up the claim they couldn't. They just make up things as they go along in their desperation to remain in power.

Then you've got Queen Pelosi regurgitating the same without any evidence.

P.S. - I for sure know what a drive by is. Looks like you are the one who needs to learn the meaning as you accused someone of a drive by who did not make one. There are plenty of websites where you could learn what it means.

Like I say...you can say the grass is purple all you want. Doesn't make it true and why accusations that are being thrown out into mid air, the best way to deal with them is to ignore them.

Exactly my point. Anyone walking around with their eyes half open and their brain cells engaged can clearly see boatloads of racist and extreme behaviors coming out of the wingnut delegations, whether they be slogans, signs, idiotic costumes, inflammatory, divisive statements, interview faux pas, mainstream media reports, pundit analyses, voting records, etc., and draw their most logical and rational conclusions as a result of such observations of evidence. Truth is in the eyes of the beholder, and all those behaviors are out there for independents and moderate GOP voters to assess and consider before showing up at the polls. Refusals to confront these issues directly only serve to push them in the opposite direction from where you want them to go, so keep up the good work, dear.

The remainder of your post is a silly and impotent dodge that I will leave to the Fox PAC to feast upon...something they are very good at. Just don't expect your line of reasoning (and I use the term veeeery loosely) to serve as a viable or convincing argument to pursuade folks to line up and support BTDT policies that will set the civil rights movements back 75 years or take our economy into another W-era rerun.

Perceptions trump proof - What you are not getting
[ In Reply To ..]
Over half the country has a good perception of the tea party. They believe that we as Americans have the right to have our voices heard.

Whether you believe it or not its in the constitution. "We the people". You may not like it but it's there.

The perception of the tea party from over half the country (yes, even some democrats) is that it is a valuable party that are for the people. It's the few hateful, spiteful, racists and violent people that hate it so much they have taken it upon themselves to repeat hateful slurs over and over and for some insane reason think that just by making things up people will believe them. Unfortunately when people are not informed about the issues and what is going on in our country, they (the sheople) are easily manipulated and mislead.

So...overall the perception of the tea party is a very positive one. The few disgruntled miserable sheople can think otherwise.

I'm still looking forward to next month. Even though there is so much evil in our government, I'm still holding hope that it will get better and we can finally bring honor and balance back to our government. I just can't believe that evil will win again.
Reality check. Believing a party has the right exist - is not the same thing as
[ In Reply To ..]
standing behind them and supporting their ideologies. I am about as left as they come, and I support the constitutional rights of the tparty....heck, even the KKK for that matter. I also think the tparty has a valuable contribution to make to the country, but NOT AT ALL for the reasons you may want to imagine. In a poll, I would answer those question positively. However, the contribution I think they have to make is to provide a living, breathing reminder of the antithesis of which direction the country should be headed, so the meaning of value in this context is, shall we say, EXTREMELY elastic.

Image perceptions of extremist and racist political ideologies are not constitutional issues and are not as simplistic as you are trying to make them out to be. What you are not realizing is that once those polling questions get beyond the generalities of constitutional rights and contributions to the process and become more specific, those "more than half" support numbers start to tumble back down to the high teens and low-20s range, where they have been almost from the get-go. After all, current political discourse coming out of the tparty mouthpieces is constantly reminding us that the tparty is NOT synonymous with the broader GOP establishment, many of whose more moderate members they have sought to exclude and turn into GOP party pariahs. In other words, they have not yet succeeded in their internal party revolutionary coup-de-tat, and it is highly doubtful they ever will. About the best they can hope for is to end up going the way of the libertarian party.

Your post suddenly disintegrated into reactionary personal slurs, Fox PAC buzz words and Beckisms that I feel no need to address, as they stand alone and speak quite well for themselves.

Reality check - What are you not getting
[ In Reply To ..]
Okay, let me try and re-state this so you will understand. You may not agree and that is fine, but this is the way it is.

The tea party has a positive image in America. They have the right to voice their opinion as that is what the constitution states, however, it is what is being said that is most important. They have woken up America to what is going on in our country, and the bad in the government. We elected people who we thought best represented us based on what they said in their campaigns. However once they got to DC they did a full turn around and did nothing of what they said they would. They are not working for the best of the people, they are self serving and bought and paid for with bribes to vote the communist/progressive way. They are "transforming" (hate that word but its the only one I know), actually better words are "taking over" our country and changing it into the way they want it.

I'm sorry they have given the liberals a bad name. There are a lot of good people who are liberals and really do care for the people they represent, but any anger should be directed at them, not the people who are mad that people are finally speaking up and saying, wait a minute, we do not live in a communist country and we'll be damned if you try and turn it into one. Sorry, but the people of this country are not going to let that happen. You cannot deny that it is happening.

The truth is Soros, Obama, Pelosi and all the other communists down the line cannot stand anyone with a different viewpoint.

I don't really care if anyone is "left" or "right". Those terms have no meaning. What the heck does "I'm left" or "I'm right" means. It means nothing and is pretty silly. You are either conservative, liberal, communist or whatever. If you consider yourself "far left" then that means you are communist. Otherwise, just say you are liberal. If you believe in spreading the wealth that means you are communist. If you believe in big government and no individuals deserve to be in business, and that the government should tell you how much money you can make, etc. Then your communist. And when people say to me "I'm about as left as they come" they are telling us "I'm communist. If that's the truth you should not be ashamed to say it. You can believe in communism if you want. This country was not founded on communism and should not be run on communism, but every day every time I turn on the news or read the news the democrats have done another thing to bring us closer to communism. That's why I don't trust them.

I have been watching and reading news on the tea parties. If you watch the liberal news stations that don't report the full truth, then yes your perception of the tea parties are not good. Your words are spoken like a true Matthews/Olbermann follower.

Here is the reality. The tea party people and events have a positive effect. The people who attend them and speak at them is all in all is good. Out of the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people that attend them well of course your going to run into a racist or two. Here's a news flash - there are racists who are not in the tea parties either. Racists are racist...stupid. They are everywhere. Especially on MSNBC. To say that the tea party does not have a racist or two would be stupid, but has MSNBC ever shown what the people at tea parties do when they find out someone there is racists and spouting their stupid ignorant racist viewpoint...they ask them to leave. But then again would expect anyone to know that because MSNBC doesn't ever show the full story. So I'm not saying there is not one racist amongst hundreds of thousand (if not over a million) people. Of course they are. But the people in the tea parties do not tolerate racists.

You claimed my post "suddenly diintegraded into reactionary personal slurs". I just read my post once again because I didn't think so. I've now read it twice to make sure I wasn't missing anything and there are no "personal slurs" in it. Please cut and paste what you feel is a "personal slur". I'm not seeing it. As for stating it is Fox PAC buzz words and Beckisms. That's pretty funny. My post is my words. I watch Shepherd Smith when he gives the news because that is my lunch hour. Otherwise I work during the day when Beck is on so very rarely get a chance to watch his show.

So what you think is an insult by telling me I sound like Fox news or Beckism (oooh that new liberal buzz word going around) - well you are actually complimenting people when you tell them that. So thank you for your compliment.

I will admit that there probably are some people in the tea party movement who are racist. However, you cannot take the actions and opinions of a few and demonize a whole group. If you look into any group, whether it be black or white or right or left, you are going to find a person or persons who are racist. This race baiting is getting old and I'm tired of it. Grow up and stop using a small percentage of people to define a much larger group of people.

Just like those who freaked out recently about Bill O'Reilly saying that Muslims killed us on 9/11 and Whoopi and Joy walked off stage because Bill didn't specifically say Muslim TERRORISTS. They jumped his frame for grouping all Muslims into the terrorists category because he didn't specify that it was Muslim terrorists who killed us on 9/11.

We can't have it both ways people. If you don't want all Muslims grouped into a terrorists category by the actions of a few extremists....you can't group all the tea party people as racists merely because a few are.

Excellent post - you said what I feel - see message

I will just add that nobody has ever said that a racist or two hasn't infiltrated the group from time to time. I watched Fox once and some racist guy got in and was saying racist stuff and the people of the tea party asked him to leave and some people escorted him out. Then I watched MSNBC and they showed the part about the racist guy, but they stopped the story there and didn't show the part about the people in the tea party asking him to leave. That is why I don't watch that channel anymore. The people on that station lost any credibility as reporters.

People need to stop lumping everyone into one group. There are good and bad everywhere. And I've seen far more racists in the liberal party than the conservative, independent, libertarian, and even the people in the tea parties. If they are going to go down that road then you might as well say all liberal are racists because we watched the black panther talking about "the crackers".

what channel do you watch now? - with your high standards

It seems that all of Fox news "mistakes" are made in such a way that - if the mistakes hadn't been caught - would have supported the Republican party, i.e. large crowd shots where they use the wrong footage for tea party rallies, Fox producers drumming up the crowd, turning off the sound during applause at democratic speeches. Let me recommend Comedy Central--it is more trusted than Fox.

I watch Shepherd Smith on Fox for news and I watch CNN. I watch Wolf Blitzer and our local news and then a channel called Headline News which gives the news all over the country and world. I don't catch Beck because I work when he is on. I watch O'Reilly sometimes (but a lot of times its like watching an inquisition especially with those 2 girls he has on, and if Megan Kelly comes on I turn the channel). I will not watch Hannity. He whines too much and we call him Sean Insanity. LOL He reminds me of a school bully so stopped watching him awhile ago. Every once in awhile I will catch Greta but she gives me a headache because she will be speaking calmly and then towards the end yells out (like example is she's talking to a guest and then she gets really loud when she says "okay thank you...." It's as bad as being blasted with the commercials.

What you wrote about the tea party rallies and Fox channel is just wrong. An obvious lie put out by the liberal media crowd. Something I take it you heard from Mathews and Olberman. What I've seen of the tea parties (had to watch on Fox because the other channels didn't cover it), but it was live footage. Fox's producers are not there at the tea parties to "drum up the crowd". Sorry, Chris Matthews your not going to spread your biggoted lies here. And I know what faux report you are talking about when you say turning off the applause at democrat speeches. I heard it. It was at an Obama speech he was giving to the military. I watched Fox and I heard the applause, so can't pull that with me again Chris.

As for your childish comment about Mathewism comment about Comedy Central...it must really hurt to be so bitter (not you personally, but anyone who feels they need to repeat things that BSNBC pukes up). If you don't like Fox News just say so. If it was an attempt at a joke it was a poor one. I don't really care whether or not you like Fox. Just cos the liberal stations are tanking because they are not giving the full and truthful news. And now that Juan Williams is on Fox full time, their ratings are going to sky rocket.

As they say, sorry Charlie. Fox is and will continue to be the best news source and the best commentary shows. Even other countries say that. Instead of being so bitter you should turn off Mathews and Olberman and the crowd at MSLSD - especially that Nora O'donnel gal. Talk about not having a clue. She reminds me of the Miss Teen USA that got up and talked about why people can't locate the US on a world map. Talk about stupid as a stick.

Small MT Company May Have To CloseJan 04, 2010
A wonderful small MT company in my town will soon be faced with closing if the Health Care Reform bill is passed.  She does not provide health insurance for her MTs but pays them well enough that they can afford their own (14 cpl).  She cannot afford health insurance for them because her group is too small for any significant discounts.  If the Health Care Reform passes which states that employers who do not provide health insurance will be fined/taxed $750 per employee, this MT c ...

What's A Good Phone Company?Mar 09, 2010
I live in eastern PA and have been with Verizon for over 35 years.  I have been late in paying the bill lately because of my work situation. Today, my son emailed me and told me my phone was disconnected. Huh? I set up electronic payments 2 weeks ago to automatically come out yesterday and this Thursday with a live person. So I called. The aggravation of having to go through those 'answering machines' to get to a live person was enough to make me flip. THEN, the person I tal ...

Mortgage Company AdviceSep 23, 2010

See link below, and this: A letter Thursday to President Barack Obama and members of Congress signed by more than 130 economists predicted the legislation would discourage companies from hiring more workers and would cause reduced hours and wages for those already employed. Are Beck And Company Funding LawlessnessJul 12, 2014
Mercury One Children and Family Border Relief Fund to help illegals coming into the United States. He’s already raised $600,000. Beck stated that Obama would not have to step in and ask for $3.7 billion if private charities would pick up the slack and give to the swarm of illegals crossing the border. Is he kidding? Do we really need more churches and non-profits enabling this blatant attack on America? Rich people and liberal elite billionaires have no skin in the game when it comes ...

So, The Retirement Home Nurse, Obeying Company Policy, RefusesMar 04, 2013
This occurred at a retirement home, not a SNF. The nurse, who did identify herself as one on the 911 line, called 911--following retirement home rules for its employees--when a resident Lorraine Bayless collapsed, but she refused the 911 operator's repeated instruction, and then begging, to initiate CPR, saying it was against the rules, that they were instructed to call paramedics and otherwise stay out of it. The operator then begged her to grab someone who didn't actually work there ...
