Hard to believe that some still believe the US government is trustworthy.

Who does believes in our government and their agencies to tell the truth and nothing but the truth?

Of course not. It's all corrupt. I think we need to - see message

get over our addiction to voting for a "party" of any kind. There should be no parties.

Instead, non-party-affiliated candidates should be running on ability and leadership potential alone. We need thinkers and builders leading our country, not destroyers, warmongers or greedy pigs.

With our current system, it's impossible to even run for office unless one is extremely well-off. Which makes what they make for LIFE, once they're out of office, such a low blow to the rest of us. A newer, simpler, and far more honest campaign system should be implemented where each candidate has a ceiling of what can be spent on their campaign. Air time should be limited, and ads should only show the candidate speaking about what he hopes to be able to do, and how he plans to do it. Mud-slinging ads are deceptive, as far too many people in this country are too gullible or incapable of separating truth from fiction to be able to read through the lines with those. They're a deterrent to a fair election, and not in any way a boon.

Campaign contributions should be limited to a one-time contribution by private citizens only, not corporations, banks, oil companies, or billionaires. And each citizen should have a cap on how much his or her donation amount can be. Like $100 maximum. Lobbyists should be done away with. They only hurt the democratic process.

By eliminating party lines amongst the Senate and Congress, that would work in a large way towards getting them to start working WITH one another on solving our county's problems, instead of doing nothing but block any attempts at progress.

I guess I will have to point this out. - sm

First of all, no source was supplied. Red flag. I was a bit curious, so I googled. The only sources repeating this was the right wing echochamber. Another red flag.

So how disingenuous is this post? Another google and I found that this "story" is about a contract ending at the end of a fiscal year in 2011. Why is this important? Because the Issa witch hunt did not begin until 2012. I guess the IRS would have known they were going to be investigated and somehow these e-mails might be pertinent, so using their crystal ball, they immediately cancelled the contract.

Not disingenuous much. Here's some info that's important - Truthhurts

After 5 years, IRS decides to end their relationshiP with the company?

...The IRS signed a contract with Sonasoft, an email-archiving company based in San Jose, California, each year from 2005 to 2010.

Sonasoft’s fiscal year 2011 contract with the IRS ended on August 31, 2011. Eight days later, the IRS officially closed out its relationship with Sonasoft in accordance with the federal government’s contract close-out guidelines, which require agencies to fully audit their contracts and to get back any money that wasn’t used by the contractor. Curiously, the IRS de-allocated 36 cents when it closed out its contract with Sonasoft on September 8, 2011.

Lois Lerner’s computer allegedly crashed in June 2011, just ten days after House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Dave Camp first wrote a letter asking if the IRS was engaging in targeting of nonprofit groups. Two months later, Sonasoft’s contract ended and the IRS gave its email-archiving contractor the boot.

I find nothing before February of 2012 - Corroborating source?

[ In Reply To ..]
It is not unusual for a contract to be resolved with 36 cents changing hands. I find no record of a letter. Contracts end all the tim--does not matter if it is 5 years or 50 years. Computers crash all the time. Most computers would never store that many e-mails and are on networks.

Your point?

Alaskan Native Status Gave A Tiny Firm A Big $250 M ContractNov 26, 2010
Another why the government gets around the bidding for contracts.   In summer 2008, the U.S. military had a major problem. More than 2,400 service members had reported being sexually assaulted the previous year, and the number was rising. Congress wanted immediate action. The Army responded by reaching out to a tiny firm in Delaware. It was an unlikely choice for such a sensitive task. The year before, United Solutions and Services, known as US2, had just three employees and sever ...

What I Think About Computer Viruses: -smJun 08, 2010
In the beginning of the Internet, I think computer worms and viruses were indeed the work of young hackers & geeks without much else to keep them occupied.  But now, I think it's a whole different ball game.  Havine dealt with a few viruses myself in the past few months, and the process of getting rid of them, I've come to believe that the ones cooking up the viruses are the so-called "virus-healing" programs you can buy all over the web for "only $39.95".  How else ...
