DO YOU REMEMBER JANUARY 3, 2007??? This tells the story, why Bush was so bad at the end of his term. Don't just skim over this, it's not very long, read it slowly and let it sink in. If in doubt, check it out!

The day the Democrats took ov
er was not January 2nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007. This was the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the ve
ry start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995. For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress.

At the time: The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH

Remember the day... January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES! Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA!

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democrat Congress!

So when someone tries to blame Bush, REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER! Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending.

After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th. There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!

;

Yep... fact the Dems ignore. Bush economy was - doing fantastic until they took over. nm

Does Anyone Want A Long (and I Mean Long!) History Lesson On Gridlock?Sep 12, 2012
I had seen an old newspaper article called "Gridlock shows signs of thawing" by Robert Novak back in 2011 so I've been mainly focusing on finding info on gridlock and the effects on lawmaking, Congress and the Presidents in the past few days.  I did compress the various articles I found, trying not to be partial to one side or the other. If you want to read it, I can post it tomorrow.   ...

Perhaps A Lesson In Anatomy?Feb 24, 2015
Idaho Rep. Vito Barbieri (R) asked what we MTs would generally consider to be a pretty funny question, but it made me wonder whether there are many men who really don't know how female anatomy works. He asked whether a woman could swallow a tiny camera that could be used for a female exam. Now, he did state later on that he meant the question to be rhetorical. I'm just wondering if he could have first stated beforehand, now, I know about female anatomy and that it is not connected to G ...

Civics And Ethics Lesson 101Oct 23, 2010
I learned that it is a right and a duty to vote for my political representatives. As usual, before every election there is all sorts of trumped up shenanigans going on to discourage and suppress voting. One that has happened to me personally a few years ago was I received a call fraudulently telling me I did not have to turn in my absentee ballot by the day printed on the instructions.  My vote would not have counted if I had followed that phone call. The mission of the clinic in Harlem was to control and help limit the African American population. In 1929, she formed the National Committee on Fe ...

Raising The Debt Limit. A Little Bit Of HistoryApr 14, 2011
After World War II ended, the debt limit was reduced to $275 billion. Because the Korean War was mostly financed by higher taxes rather than by increased debt, the limit remained at $275 billion until 1954. After 1954, the debt limit was reduced twice and increased seven times, until March 1962 when it again reached $300 billion, its level at the end of World War II. Since March 1962, Congress has enacted 74 separate measures that have altered the limit on federal debt. Time Line from 1958-2011 ...

Third Reich:The Rise and Third Reich: The Fall.  I found it very interesting, although the filming was pretty awful with all that flashing. The films were made by the German people. The Rise was the history and reasons of how Hitler came into power. It almost parallels the conditions in the U.S. today. Tx History Reminds Us They Were Dead Broke When TheyNov 13, 2012
So much for all that rugged spirit of independence. US history informs us that unilateral secession is unconstitutional without the consent of the remaining states except as a byproduct of revolution. The last time that notion took a test run, it was a costly, abysmal failure. Tx does have the option of seceding from itself via subdivision into smaller states that remain in the union. None of the above options pass muster with Governor Perry now that he is harboring fantasies of a second pre ...

History: If No Last-minute Dem Shenanigan, R Wins And O Loses.Sep 20, 2012
Since Truman, no incumbent has been reelected with a poll number below 49% at this point in the election cycle.  I am omitting Bush 2, who had 48% but whose reelection ultimately had to be decided by the courts so I think you have to simply toss this election out when looking at voter trends. As a general rule, undecideds almost always break away from the incumbent, and they will surely do so in the current environment - both globally, domestically and economically - in all of which areas ...
