Higher premiums? Can this be so?

Posted: Mar 31, 2014

75% of those signed up now have higher premiums, says the Cleveland Clinic.  So who are you going to believe?

Cosgrove explained that the Affordable Care Act is having a âmajor effectâ upon health care providers.

âWe know for example that weâre going to get paid less for what we do,â Cosgrove stated. âHospitals are going to be paid less for what they do. We also know that insurers are paying less for what we do.â

The above is the only thing Cosgrove is qualified to comment on. He has no idea what people are paying for health insurance or what they paid in the past. Bottom line is that he is unhappy with the reimbursements the Cleveland Clinic, a very expensive facility, gets. It seems his statement to Fox News is based more on sour grapes than fact.

I hear the rate of increase is going down, though.

This is just the beginning of the - Negative Fallout from Obamacare.

There are approximately 300 million Americans. Let's say 7+ million sign up for this unAffordable Care Act. I have no idea how many millions have health care through their employers, but will it really be enough to fund Obamascare?

Also, of those signed up, how many are going to continue to pay their premiums every month or every quarter? You know some won't. How will that impact what the others are paying?

And, the big unknown is by what percentage will premiums increase for 2015 due to the colossal failure of this sham?

There are a lot of democrats turning away from this issue for the upcoming elections. Note, these are apparently highly educated and intelligent individuals.

Premiums Still Rising About As Fast Under ObamacareMar 24, 2016
That is, 30% in the 5 years before O-care, 28% in the 5 years after O-care.  But of course, that's not even the whole story.  Those are just the premiums.  When we look at other costs and also at what it all pays for (is the product as good?), the story is much, much worse. The deductibles are much higher.  Co-pays are higher.  Choice is far more limited.  And for all this added cost, many claims for services, medications and medical equipment that were cover ...

More than 600,000 people in Texas, about 325,000 in North Carolina, and another 275,000 in Georgia would see insurance premiums soar by similar amounts. Nationwide, more than 4 million people living in 37 states would be in situations like these. Most would have no way to pay the higher bills, forcing them to drop insurance covera ...

But they exaggerate. The law — the bulk of which has yet to be implemented — has caused only about a 1 percent to 3 percent increase in premiums, according to several independent experts. Today, more U.S. women die in childbirth and from pregnancy-related causes than at almost any point in the last 25 years. The United States is the one of only seven countries in the entire world that has experienced an increase in maternal mortality over the past decade (we join the likes of Afghanistan and South Sudan), and mothers in Iran, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Serbia and Greece (among many other countries) have a better chance of surviving pregnancy than do women in the United Sta ...
