Which was about the dedication of the President's library and how President Bush outclasses Obama.

I and others don't need to read about the war that congress approved during Bush's administration and that Obama is continuing. We know about that.

The OP's message was about the dedication of the President's library and the celebration of the good things he accomplished while in office. We respected Clinton when his came up and we respect this one too.

So thanks for letting us know what the link was too. There is nothing that needs a "dose of reality". If you go down that road there is plenty of dirt we can bring up about Clinton and Obama.

I thought his last line, where he was sincerely emotional, "Whatever challenges come before us, I will always believe our nation’s best days lie ahead. God bless." was very insightful and retrospective.

We can get a pretty good idea of what kind of class presidents have in the purest form of human being after they leave office; they can pretty much choose their cause based on what their core values are. Some direct their attention to charitable organizations, foreign relation liaisons, and offering their services to further the agenda of their political party.

I doubt the latter will be an option for Bush (the Republican political arena has made it clear he's not an asset to their future and unwanted in any capacity), but only time will tell if he'll choose another outlet to rehabilitate his class rating--his presidency was definitely void of it. I think he realizes that, evidenced by his last line.

But now IS his chance to shine.

but evidently you didn't know that throughout his presidency and even now, he still works to combat HIV/AIDS and malaria in Africa, and was praised for helping to save 5 million lives, besides teaming up with Clinton to start the Haitian Fund after the earthquake.

He made mistakes during his presidency, as do all presidents but for some reason, his haters won't let sleeping dogs lie. They do not compare mistakes by Democratic presidents, including the present one.

I thought he did a half decent job compared to what he had to put up with. I don't think any president had to make the many hard decisions of 911 so soon after an election. That, alone, should garner him some respect.

I won't return your insults, just some research:

"The White House claimed that the banner was requested by the crew of the ship, who did not have the facilities for producing such a banner. Afterward, the administration and naval sources stated that the banner was the Navy's idea, White House staff members made the banner, and it was hung by the U.S. Navy personnel. White House spokesman Scott McClellan told CNN, "We took care of the production of it. We have people to do those things. But the Navy actually put it up."[8] According to John Dickerson of Time magazine, the White House later conceded that they hung the banner but still insists it had been done at the request of the crew members."

While I may not have agreed with everything under the Bush presidency, I do have to say it was a time I felt proud to be an American and America was a great country where people were held to a high standard. Again, while I didn't agree with everything Bush did President Bush and First Lady Laura earned my respect and admiration. He gave hope to many and when so many were hurting he showed compassion towards his fellow Americans. When people were hurting he did not run off and spend the taxpayers dollars on lavish vacations to serve some sick self gratification.

The article was very well written and summed up how I felt. I think Bush had enough politics in his time and is happy out of the limelight. He earned and deserved this event to celebrate his presidency and the good things he did while as President. I've seen him interviewed since leaving office and I have to say I admire him. He would never do anything to disrespect future presidents. He and Laura have always been that way. Even when they had to clean up after the trash left in the previous administration (or as the writer accurately summed it up "the class clown").

But the article particularly hit me coming from a democrat. It gives me hope to know that not all democrats are bought stooges, defending wrong that they know is wrong, and not afraid to stand up and say what is right. It gives me hope that not all democrats are spoiled brats, even though I couldn't name one democrat in office deserving any respect let alone their little minions that defend their wrong doings.

The writer is profoundly precise when he writes "Obama is all surface — shallow, obvious, robotic, and, frankly, not nearly as smart as he thinks." I hear many people saying the same thing, many democrats, and people from other countries too. The democrats just whisper it, except for Bill Maher, he shouts out what is going on, in some insane way proud of the hypocrisy he and other democrats display.

President Bush earned my respect and First Lady Laura Bush earned my admiration. Something the current two in there now have not understood. Respect and admiration is not automatic. It needs to be earned. When they do something to earn it, it will be given.

My message to President Bush - Wishing you all the best and good health in your retirement. Time to enjoy life. And to First Lady Laura Bush - you are as beautiful and elegant as always. Thank you for the reminder the office was once graced with a wonderful person. I and many other patriot Americans are proud of your accomplishments as First Lady. All the best to you too.

Thanks again for the article.

husband?, loved one?

And Clinton impeachment was brought by those who were guilty of the same thing.

Self-righteous hypocrites:

Newt Gingrich who was himself having an affair at the time (while his wife had cancer) and had to resign.

Here are a few other hypocrites who voted for impeachment:

Dan Burton, who claimed no one should be allowed to get away with sexual impropriety had previously fathered a son as the result of an affair with a state employee. He ended up marrying the doctor who treated his wife (who died) for cancer. Not to mention other nonsexual improprieties he had his fingers in.

Helen Chenowith who had a 6-year affair, but she defended herself saying it was different because it was before she was an elected official. She asked God for forgiveness...

Henry Hyde had an affair with a married woman with 3 children. He was 41, but claimed it was a "youthful indiscretion."

Again, please tell me how many people died as the result of Clinton's sexual indiscretion?

The former president Bush, as another poster pointed out, is lucky his classy self isn't in jail.

Go for it re comparing scandals and illegal wars. Just be sure you keep a tally on the death count.

You know had the original subject have been about Bush alone, his speech, his museum, rather than a article that is antagonistic against Clinton and Obama, saying they had less class than Bush, maybe it would have gone a different way. But it is what it is. Enjoy your search and tally mission.
Not my son, but over 7500 other parents children did - But that's not what this is about
[ In Reply To ..]
We are not talking about the number of deaths here. If so we can talk about Waco Texas, Iraq, Somalia, etc.

What this is about is that you have an ex President who thought he was above the law. He brought shame to the position of President and the White House.

Besides, the post I replied to mentioned My Pet Goat. Did the book MY Pet Goat result in deaths. No it did not. Are you insinuating that Bush was responsible for 911. I sure hope not.

Besides, this is not about the deaths - it's about class versus the class clown.
