I agree that his "uh" verbal tick (or whatever you call it) is in waaaay too much evidence when he's speaking spontaneously. I hear soooo many people who have other verbal habits that get in the way of them speaking very smoothly...things like "you know," and "I mean," and "like" thrown in way too frequently.

I'm reasonably intelligent, but I notice that I pause and speak too disjointedly when I'm speaking off the cuff and trying to gather/organize my thoughts. Some of it, I'm afraid, is a result of our society's increased use of electronics, texting, etc. People don't verbalize the way we did in generations past.

I admit that I don't like it, but it won't keep me from voting for Obama. :-)
