This is a particularly harsh and cruel subject in our schools, particularly, because of the age and developing personalities, on both parts, that there are few filters and almost anything thought is said in hallways, social media, et cetera.
I'm afraid general friendship and respect classes might be in order for the above complaints.

There are already bike lanes on all of the main streets, and the council decided that these were sufficient. I suppose that the councilmen who voted to deny the proposal were "voting to allow bicyclists to be run over by motorists", right?
There is not, and was not, any reason for SPECIAL legislation against LGBT bullying and THAT is why the legislators didn't support it.

A long time ago I had this button I used to wear that says: "I'm straight but not narrow." The other day someone was going on and on about gay people and using some rather unkind language (the kind that would get me banned if I wrote it here) and I looked right at the guy and said, "I have always thought that if you were secure in your own sexuality, you wouldn't be threatened by gay people. What's the matter with you?" Dunno, I'm an old lady and I just think it's much better to be decent than to be mean.
