Believing in climate change does not make you a liberal.

Stop letting the politicos fool with your intelligence.  Many republicans are now starting to repudiate the standard right wing mantra.  Climate change is real.

Here's why I dislike it - what if

[ In Reply To ..]
Well I just hit the like button by accident. I was just going to pass it by when I saw your message. Thought my mouse was over the dislike button and instead clicked on the wrong "like" button. Here's my explanation. Now don't flame me, these are all my opinions.

Nobody ever said conservatives don't believe in climate change. We all know the climate is changing, but not for the BS reasons Gore has brainwashed people to believing. Gore, whose movie was based on a lie, found to be lying about global warming while scamming people out of their money. Ridiculing anyone who didn't believe him. I read an article that said what is so obviously true (I'll post the link below, it's a good article and there is an animation that is funny (and rings so true) regarding climate change). One part of the article says:

"Al Gore has amassed a fortune by embellishing facts and creating a cult of global warming zombies. Al Gore claims to be a crusader against the evils of CO2 and pollution, yet he produces more pollution and CO2 in one month then a family of four does in a year. Gore claims eating beef is bad for the environment and YOU should stop, but he continues to eat meat. Gore is flown in a private jet around the world, but preaches the destruction this causes when YOU do it. Gore tells you to conserve power, yet his house in Tennessee is less environmentally friendly and less efficient then the "hated" George W. Bush's house in Texas. The Irony is laughable, but what makes this sad is that people actually believe him. Al Gore is a moron, read the articles and posts and you decide".

http://www.squidoo.com/theIdiotAlGore

So, in ending, basically I did not like the post because first I did not like the statement "Stop letting the politicos fool with your intelligence". Nobody is fooling with our intelligence. Actually I'm not sure if that is a cut down to republicans or democrats, all I know is I read different articles from many sources People here in our country and other countries regarding climate change. Just because people don't believe what others do does not mean anyone is "fooling" with anyone's intelligence. Everyone can read and believe what they want. Second I didn't like the insinuation of the "right wing mantra" line. Usually when I hear that it's followed by an arrogant statement that is a lie. Third, everyone knows climate change is real and republicans never said they didn't believe in climate change. We just don't believe the lies put out by Algore and his so called scientists, all the while scamming people out of money. And lastly I didn't like the article itself. Well it's not really that I didn't like it. Some parts I liked some parts I didn't like. I liked the part where he talked about being a moderate republican, fiscally conservative, etc. The likes and dislikes of the rest of the article were intertwined between sentences/paragraphs. I didn't like where he said acknowledging climate science doesn't make you a liberal because climate change has nothing to do with a political party. You either read and agree or disagree. That would be like saying "Liking hot dogs doesn't make you a liberal.". The two have nothing to do with the other, except a liberal is trying to con you into believing that only the US is producing so much CO2 that it's affecting the whole planet and that everyone needs to stop living, eating meat, driving cars, while he continues to, but hey send him your money and he'll give you these imaginary things he dreamt up called "carbon credits". I guess in general I didn't like the arrogance of the article and assumptions.

And then on top of that the fact is the world is cooling, not warming.

Thank you for your - response

The earth is a very important issue for me. I believe we must take better care of our planet. I certainly would not flame you. I appreciate your answer.

I don't claim a political party. I guess I believe in views from both sides. With that being said, I believe perhaps we read more about republicans wanting to drill for oil in our country, build that pipeline from north to south, and things like that are probably why to many it seems republicans don't care about our environment or global warming.

I have never listened to Al Gore about global warming, though I believe we are destroying our planet with the extreme use of fossil fuels among other things we do. I have read many articles on global warming and some believe it is due to natural causes and some believe it is due to human causes. I personally believe both are happening. I believe, so to speak, we are speeding up the process. I also believe we have a lot to do with many of the natural disasters happening. We are drilling deep into the earth, setting off bombs and other things that I do believe have an effect on our planet, causing shifting of plates and so forth. I recently read an article where there is a place in Ohio that has had more earthquakes last year than ever and they recently started drilling in this area for oil. I will try to locate that article and post it.

I have also read that what will really happen in the end is that our planet will become cold. We are messing with the ocean currents and it will cause another ice age, so to speak.

I do believe we need to make much better effort to take care of our planet. Many, both parties, I don't think party has anything to do with it, believe we can just do what we want to the planet without consequences and it truly saddens me. This is our only home and we need to take better care of it so our children and grandchildren will have a home.

I do like the push President Obama is making for alternative energy, though I believe he and everybody else should be practicing things that we can do ourselves to help. Alternative energy is very expensive right now and we started way too late as far as I am concerned on developing it.

I do believe that the companies involved in fossil fuels of course are not going to support better ways, as they make their money in selling fossil fuel. I believe stockholders who have stock in these things are also not going to push for something different. Unfortunately, it is true that greed is ruining our planet.

I certainly do not know all the answers. I do read different sources stating different things. The most consistent concensus I come up with is that global warming is happening, though it is going to have an opposite reaction than what people normally think. I don't know if this will all happen in the next 10, 100 or 1000 years but it is happening and some of it is probably just a natural phase for earth, but we need to do what we can to slow it down.

Thank you for your response. I guess I was more concerned about the global warming issue than the political blame in the article. The basic fact to me is that it is happening and all of us need to start paying attention to things we do in our life to help. The president and all politicians should be practicing what is being preached and start going green.

Have a nice day.

The problem is that the science regarding climate change has been turned into a sociopolitical football like evolution.

Because of the implications of energy policy, the gauntlet has been thrown down along partisan lines, blurring the boundary between opinion and science.

There are too many people who think science is a form of opinion. The data speaks for itself. The world is not cooling.

if you read anything at all not published by people like Algore trying to make money off his hoax/scam you will find the world is in a cooling era.

Do your research. The data speaks for itself and it does not have a political agenda. The science/data shows the world is cooling, not warming.

and bearing in mind cyclical patterns throughout history, we are due for a period of cool down. This is only a theory. No one knows for sure. Why are the glaciers melting and the seas rising? The cool down was supposed to begin in 1999 I think, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I would rather support the idea of preserving our planet than just ignore how people are damaging it and say it does not matter.
If we do eventually have a cool down I think it will be because the carbon waste has obscured the sun and it will get cold and nothing will grow. I will not live to see that happen but do not think it is an impossibility.
Agree! Let's preserve the planet whether it's warming or cooling! - sm

Whether the globe is warming or not, can't we agree to proceed with care and caution when it comes to our environment?

Yes, our climate is changing but I believe it is the natural cycle of our planet. There are a lot of scientific articles that dispute Al Gore and his scheme. Finally glad to see someone who hasn't bought into the Al Gore mantra!

I suppose some will think this belongs on the Faith Board, but it is also a political issue.  I am so sick of hearing about climate change and all that we can do as human beings about it.  These politicians should read their Bible; that is if they even own one, and they would soon discover that man did not create this world and man is not going to change what God made.  There has been climate change since the beginning of time and just because we, who are now living in these times ...
