That way if someone doesn't like my posts, they'll see it's me and will either give me a dislike just for the sake of thinking they're superior to me or that their dislike button will hurt my feelings or better yet, would move on without reading my posts and not waste their time.

It couldn't be they just disagree with you? Or maybe your information was not factual (an opinion page link)?

Sometimes your tone can be condescending and scolding without provocation. That's usually why I click dislike. That goes for any post for that matter. If someone tells me to wake up or to get real or asks me what I've been drinking or if they disrespect the president with derogatory names, that will be grounds for a dislike.

I don't use a moniker anymore because it was distracting from the discussion. I drew way too much conservative hate and personal attacks that I realized was only because of my moniker. I don't have that problem now.

That's the real purpose of a board - to DISCUSS and DEBATE a post/article. Just hitting the dislike button doesn't give a reason.

I usually don't post an opinion piece. I post newspaper stories/articles. Would you care to point them out to me?

Once in a while I'll post a blog/opinion piece, but most of my links come from the newspapers/TV networks like ABC, CBS, NBC (sometimes NBC), WaPo, HuffPo, Washington Times, Reuters (never full article because of copyright-they're pretty good at suing), local newspapers from around the country and around the world, etc.

Some of us do try to explain why we disagree with or dislike a post, but are too frequently met with accusations that we didn't read the article or are conveniently deciding to post selective information.

The last time I was challenged to rebut some notions, I did so with references and was promptly deleted because it made the poster really, really, really mad.

A lot of times posters ask questions they don't really want answered, so if you do answer, you are accused of attacking. Lots of times an OP won't even come out and say what they are talking about, and when we ask, we get insulted. It's kind of a lose-lose proposition for those of us who ARE interested in thinking and engaging.

but you'd come back with the same argument, ask me questions which I'd answer and others even would answer, but you'd not answer mine unless it was rehashing what you'd already posted.

You once accused me of following you, so I've backed off since then, rarely respond, and sometimes click dislike, which I will continue to do, as my intention of posting here is to debate politics, not engage in personal combat that may cause someone fear or emotional upset. I probably would have responded to your posts whether or not you used a moniker, so I wasn't purposely following you.

would answer questions asked of me and sometimes after posting I just can't get back to the board to answer any questions. I don't like posting answers without backup. I don't spend my life here like I did a couple years ago when job hunting but no more. I've found other things to do in my spare hours. :-)

I don't want to engage in personal combat either, but you have to admit that some posters completely veer off the subject and then turn it into a shouting match.

Then there are the really, really bad days and bad moods....I get them occasionally and totally shut out this board. I'm sure you do it, too. If hot, you must have nerves of steel. :-)
