New Orleans Cops Search for Assailants Who Attacked Jindal's Campaign Aide

FOXNews.com

Police are seeking help to track down the assailants who attacked a campaign aide to Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and her boyfriend after they left a GOP fundraiser in New Orleans, leaving her with a broken leg and him with a fractured jaw, broken nose and a black eye.

Police are asking for help in tracking down the assailants who attacked a campaign aide to Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and her boyfriend after they left a GOP fundraiser in New Orleans, leaving her with a broken leg and the boyfriend with a fractured jaw, broken nose and a black eye.

The attack occurred last Friday after Jindal's chief campaign fundraiser, Allee Bautsch, 25, left a fundraiser for the Louisiana Republican Party at a local restaurant.

Assailants knocked down Bautsch and stomped her repeatedly, breaking her leg in five places.

Bautsch's mother told Fox News on Friday that her daughter was not robbed, but her boyfriend was "after she was screaming on the ground."

The suspects stole Bautsch's purse and ran off, Bautsch's mother said.

Despite protesters being seen outside of the fundraiser, Jindal's office dismissed reports that the attack was politically motivated.

"We are not aware of any evidence the individuals involved in the altercation were protesters," the statement read.

Bautsch's mother told Fox News on Friday that her daughter and her boyfriend were met with derogatory comments before they were attacked as they walked into a dark area in the French Quarter. Bautsch's mother declined to specify the comments.

"I don't want to impede the police investigation so I don't want to get into the political ramifications," she said. "But things were said to my daughter and her boyfriend. Everything was about money."

When asked whether reports that political insults were hurled at the couple were accurate, Bautsch's mother said, "This is not a Republican or Democrat problem. This is a problem that a young girl and her boyfriend were attacked. And the story hasn't really come out and I want to make sure these guys are found."

Bautsch's mother said her daughter described the suspects as "average looking kids."

"They were not kids that you would necessarily think would harm you," she said. "But I'm not going to say they looked like Republicans or Democrats."

Bautsch's mother said her daughter has a rod that goes down the entire center of her leg with screws in her ankles.

"For a mother, it's a lot," she said. "The recovery is enormous. She has five different scars that's she'll have from this. This isn't just something that, you know, she was pushed down on the ground or she fell. That's not the case. They were stomping her."

Nothing like waiting until investigations are completed - and examining ALL the evidence. sm

Guess the conservative blogosphere will explode today with a new grass roots movement to throw Jindal under the bus. I have to hand it to Jindal. He showed his personal integrity by refusing to ride the groundswell of knee-jerk blame casting for the sake of political capitol, and instead opted to go with good old-fashioned honesty.

I also read this yesterday. sm - nosa

Newsweek:

The Census Bureau field-training manual advises employees on everything from walking only in lighted areas to staying away from political issues, especially when someone is hostile: "Do not defend yourself or the government with respondents who say they hate you and all government employees. Indicate that you regret this opinion and express a desire to provide them with a positive experience." Perhaps Bill Sparkman wasn't given the time to follow that sage advice.

New York Magazine:

Twelve days ago, in a Kentucky cemetery, a the body of a census worker was found hanging from a tree. Scrawled across his chest was the word "fed." Though it's too early to conclude that the man, 51-year-old Bill Sparkman, was targeted in an act of anti-government violence, that is an angle that authorities are currently looking into. And if that turns out to be the case, it wouldn't be all that surprising, considering the sheer volume of vitriol directed at the federal government and the Obama administration these days by conservative media personalities, websites, and even members of Congress.

Think Progress:

The gruesome lynching of this Census worker seems to bear a disturbing similarity to some of the worst hate crimes committed across this country. Regardless of what the motive for the killing may have been, why would a murderer(s) take such pains to so blatantly convey anger, fear, and vitriol towards a Census employee? Perhaps because some on the right have created an impression that Census employees are terrifying.

Andrew Sullivan:

It's possible, I suppose, that anger at the feds in general could make a drug dealer murder a census worker. But the most worrying possibility - that this is Southern populist terrorism, whipped up by the GOP and its Fox and talk radio cohorts - remains real.

MyDD:

If conservative politicians and opinion leaders keep stoking fears about the government using census data to steal from or perhaps even round up law-abiding citizens, I am concerned that mentally unstable individuals will commit further acts of violence against census-takers next year.

The facts surrounding Sparkman's death, facts that were not available when these writers issued their vitriolic indictments of prominent conservatives, demonstrate the hastiness with which so many of the left's opinionistas will attribute violence to mere words.

Now that the blatant falsities of these accusations have been exposed, we shall see if these writers show some decency and retract their scornful statements.

In the previous thread every single claim that this was a political attack was debunked. People said it was political because of Palin pins, someone quickly showed that wasn't true. People claimed the liberals were ignoring this incident, I linked to big liberal blogs covering it. They claimed the news was ignoring it, I linked to several news outlets that were reporting it. And each time, someone like you would come along with a silly excuse that "proved" that we were just lying liberals and that you rightwingers knew the real truth.

Now Fox -- the ultimate rightwing news site -- is saying these poor people were not attacked for political reasons. You'll notice all the rightwingers claiming it was political are silent now, except you, of course, since you want to retcon the whole thing and pretend that your only problem was people were being "snooty".

Just stop it. It's pathetic.

Turns out to be a local routine robbery story after all. - The facts would explain why

[ In Reply To ..]
Jindal's office did not claim this was a political incident from the get-go, the victim herself stated she was "unsure" if it was politically motivated, the police would not comment when asked about the ALLEGED political ramifications and the mother refused to discuss the subject of politics when interviewed by Fox News.

IN SPITE OF ALL THAT, cons jumped at the chance to manufacture false accusations and ignore the facts, as usual, in hopes of deflecting attention off of the current dialog that is focused on the GOP's, conservatives' and Tea Party's own incitements and incidents of violence. Big surprise. Perhaps now they will at least have the decency to let it go now and allow the family to have some privacy, but unfortuntely some of thos wingnuts will continue to milk their debunked theories for all they are worth. Facts just don't sit well with those folks.

Oh stop it. Where are TEA partiers violent, huh? - You are being totally hypocritical

[ In Reply To ..]
by defending one side and slamming the other. Although there are nuts everywhere, as evidenced by this board, for the most part, The TEA party is full of peaceful protestors, so cut the bull.

I don't make the news, nor do I report it. I just listen to it - and discuss it, and it

[ In Reply To ..]
certainly has been a hot topic of late, hasn't it? In my post, I simply pointed out what is woefully obvious, about the lame attempt to deflect attention off the reporting, which now has spanned a couple of weeks, just like we saw posters on this board try to assert the same nonsense that the Jindal aide false accusers did this time around. Of course, they failed to come up with anything that would stick.

So, every single time it comes up in the media, I will be the first one to step up to draw attention to it, spread the word, discuss it, condemn it and CONDEMN it again, unlike GOP, conservative and Tea party leadership who delude themselves into thinking they are gaining some twisted form of political traction by staying silent.

I'll stop when the reported incidents stop, and not a moment sooner. Look for a blitz on the subject of conservative domestic terrorism this weekend. I am looking forward to Rachel Maddow's special on the McVeigh tapes. Looks like there is no end in sight, at least not in the immediate future, huh?

Jindal Disqualifies HimselfJun 27, 2015
Presidential hopeful Bobby Jindal has made it clear that he is not qualified for the position, and even the most ardent conservative should agree. While complaining today about the SCOTUS decision making gay marriage legal, Jindal suggested "If we want to save some money lets just get rid of the court." This demonstrates without a doubt that Jindal neither understands nor respects the US Constitution, and that he is utterly unworthy to serve this country in any political capacity.   ...
