As Immigration Crisis Grows, A Protest Movement Gains Steam

Posted: Jul 18, 2014

It would be nice to see a protest in every city across America this weekend!

;

Times have changed and the world has changed. - We have no leader in

[ In Reply To ..]
American and the American Dream has morphed into a giant piñata. Immigrants used to come here for opportunities. Now they come here for freebies, handouts and celebrity status as a “minority.”

Good to see people fighting back since we - essentially have dissolved

[ In Reply To ..]
the Southern Border.

I thought you people were the ones who thought - all protests were by America-hating hippies.

[ In Reply To ..]
Oh wait. That's only the protests that YOU don't agree with.
America's decline can be linked to them and the 60s, - and Charless Manson ruined
[ In Reply To ..]
that movement. Hippies are forever linked to him.

If you can't tell the difference between a protest for Constitutional rights (first amend.) and a love-in for free sex, drugs, and no work, well, I guess enough said.
Wow - I knew you guys were uninformed, but - the above post really took the cake.

Typical uninformed response. - No wires?

Trace the decline of the hippie movement, it - can be linked to the Tate
[ In Reply To ..]
murders.
That was just one small rogue group of whackos. - And by then, the hippie "movement" was -
[ In Reply To ..]
already dying out, because all movements die out. It's a natural progression of movements, people and society.
More liberal claptrap. The hippie movement of the past - protesting not wanting to
[ In Reply To ..]
work, free sex and doing drugs all day has no relation to the illegal alien debate of today.
Haha - a lot of those 60s-70s protesting "hippies" - went on to be leaders instead of sheep.
[ In Reply To ..]
Let's see - some of the ones I know personally went on to be Chief of Cardiology at a hospital; an astrophysicist; an entrepreneur; quite a few successful artists and musicians; an assistant to Francis Ford Coppola, a wealthy breeder of racehorses; more than a few scientists, a successful inventor, and lots and lots of teachers and professors, not to mention published authors.

Yeah, "them hippies are up to no good."
I guess that explains the mess we're in today, - thanks. n/m

You're welcome. - nm

It sounds like they changed and became - capitalists, since there's
[ In Reply To ..]

Some did, some didn't. Being "successful" in - sm

life isn't always defined by being a capitalist, you know.

There are other, far better, forms of success.
Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dorn, et all. - no message

This is happening everywhere, America and Europe, - America is weak, the

[ In Reply To ..]
EU has divided and pitted people against each other (like here) and the Middle East is on fire. A real leader will step up to fill the void, but my spider senses are up.

I know exactly what you mean - sm

about the "real" leader filling the void.

History reveals this doesn't always end - well. n/m

I'm guessing that leader will come from Europe, - possibly Germany, as I

[ In Reply To ..]
believe we are living in a "post America" land of no accountability, no law, no Constitution, no integrity, no borders, fiat currency and probably no gold. Basically a Kingdom of Lies.

Even Hillary and Kerry defer to Europe.

Then what's to be so "patriotic" about? - NM

[ In Reply To ..]
Exactly, our leaders are destroying it. That's - why people are protesting,
[ In Reply To ..]
usually we are working hard and don't have time.
Our "leaders" aren't destroying America, because - its been a long time since - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
any of them held any real power. The country is being destroyed by those who ARE in power now: Big business, banks, and the stock market. AND a populace that closes their eyes, plugs their ears, and refuses to believe that unregulated, lawless capitalism is unraveling America.
The Collective has no consequences for their - actions. They will always

blame their failures on the opposition.

May they all get sunburns - nm

When the American people are put on the - hook, i.e. higher taxes,

[ In Reply To ..]
no jobs, declining schools and healthcare systems being over run and over populated, and our culture essentially spit on, well how much more do you except people to take! ESPECIALLY when our own president is using them as a tool against us and trying to break us financially!!!

What, exactly, IS our country's "culture"? - Wouldnt you agree that it is a - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
mix of the cultures of every other country our own ancestors came here from?

It's called assimilation; one language, hard - work ethic, individual

[ In Reply To ..]
responsibility, economic freedom. That's why people used to come here.
"One language"? There's never been just one - language spoken here. -sm-
[ In Reply To ..]
English may be the "official" language, but that doesn't mean that other languages are outlawed. Nor should they be.
They weren't outlawed, people wanted to be - American, they still spoke
[ In Reply To ..]
native language at home. My grandparents spoke German only in the home. They wanted to be American.
So then there's no reason to believe any new - immigrants wont do the same.
[ In Reply To ..]
You left out an important word, ILLEGAL. - If I was a legal immigrant,
[ In Reply To ..]
I'd feel like a sucker.
Legality wasn't the talking point here, it was "culture". - Illegal immigrants will be just as -
[ In Reply To ..]
capable of learning English as legal ones.

And right now, it's unfair to just lump everyone into one category: "Illegal aliens." Some are, yes. Others aren't, and got caught up in this mess. Most are REFUGEES. It's going to take a while to get all that sorted out.

If something happened in the US where everything went crazy, and your only hope of saving your life or your kids' lives was to get them into Canada ASAP, regardless of how you did it, wouldn't you want to at least be given a chance, instead of being shot right back into a country that was likely going to murder your family?

And don't think that kind of a scenario is impossible here. ANYTHING is possible in this world. Absolutely anything.
I think all LEGAL immigrants should file a class action - lawsuit against the Obama
[ In Reply To ..]
administration.
Talk about a one-track mind! You guys are - going to have a hard time, regardless - S/M
[ In Reply To ..]
of who becomes the country's next President, learning a new blame-word. It'll probably take months of rehab and special classes to learn a new President's name, so that whenever you see something you don't like, you'll be able to blame _______________(fill in the blank.) It's gonna take a lot of hard work and practice to learn something new, but I think you can do it.
It depends on if there's anything left worth - fighting for, sadly. n/m
[ In Reply To ..]
n
Oh, I'm sure you'll all find plenty to gripe about, - even if its your guy that wins!
[ In Reply To ..]
The mess this president created - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
is going to take more than a couple of presidential terms to unravel and repair, if at all. America as we know it may not be around by then thanks to this socialist marxist president known as BO.
That's a fact, unfortunately. The smartest Republican in the world - couldn't fix this mess in 2 terms.

You're believing the left-wing hacks. - They are all NOT refugees.
[ In Reply To ..]
I wish you bleeding-heart liberals would live one day in a border city and deal with all aspects of this situation before you cast aspersions.

Congress can go home now, it's made itself - obsolete. Homeland Security

[ In Reply To ..]
has the power to grant asylum. I don't know if the Republic can survive.

Its funny how democrats went from whining about the epidemic of violence in America to calling America a safe haven from violence in about two weeks flat.

When some kind of disease outbreak hits schools this year, blame the democrats.

I'd be more likely to blame the homeschoolers - who are anti-vaccine for any diseases.

French Far Right Looks For Gains In Regional PollsMar 22, 2015
France's National Front, one of the most powerful populist far right parties in Europe, eyed significant gains against President Francois Hollande's ruling socialists in regional elections Sunday. The elections' first round got under way at 8:00 am (0700 GMT) across 101 "departments", which control issues such as school and welfare budgets. For the National Front, Sunday was a chance to punish the Socialists and get up a head of steam for presidential elections in 2017 that ...

Putin Steam Rolls Over The Middle East While Obama Spouts Platitudes (sm)Oct 01, 2015
Meanwhile, “chanting ‘Death to America’ does not create jobs,” Obama continued, apparently unaware that no one who spends their time chanting “Death to America,” painting intricate murals of a skull-faced, razor-clawed Lady Liberty, or enthusiastically burning effigies actually cares about working their way up the career ladder. Now that I think about it, you know what else doesn’t create jobs? Bombing Syria! Quick, somebody tell Vladimir Putin. What on ...

According to a study by a pro-health reform group published Thursday, the nation's largest five health insurance companies posted a 56 percent gain in 2009 profits over 2008. The insurers including Wellpoint, UnitedHealth, Cigna, Aetna and Humana, which cover the majority of Americans with insur ...

Ten Ways The Occupy Movement Changes EverythingNov 14, 2011
Before the Occupy Wall Street movement, there was little discussion of the outsized power of Wall Street and the diminishing fortunes of the middle class. The media blackout was especially remarkable given that issues like jobs and corporate influence on elections topped the list of concerns for most Americans. Occupy Wall Street changed that. In fact, it may represent the best hope in years that “we the people” will step up to take on the critical challenges of our tim ...

It Appears The Dominionist Movement Is Using The Tea PartyNov 05, 2013
If it can, of course. We all know the Tea Party has been without a clear leader and direction for some while. The change in the TP's tone from the fixing of what needed to be fixed of its formation to now has been gradual, but today what we hear from them is increasingly fear and disrespect of a national government that is portrayed as their enemy, patriotism seemingly dead. When the Tea Party formed without leadership and specific goal, DH and I speculated whether it would be taken over ...

Our Stupid Self-inflicted CrisisJul 25, 2011
New York (CNN) -- Let me get this straight. The people who have been preaching the most about the dangers of American decline are right now helping to hasten American decline. Because if America defaults on its debt, not only will we find ourselves in a far deeper fiscal hole, but the full faith and credit of the United States will be compromised. In our globalized era, that means America will be considered an unpredictable partner and a second-class power. Worst of all, this will be a s ...

Fannie-Freddie Might Need $100 Billion In New CrisisAug 09, 2017
Mortgage-finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could need nearly $100 billion in bailout money in the event of a new economic crisis, according to stress test results released Monday by their regulator. The companies would need to draw between $34.8 billion and $99.6 billion in U.S. Treasury aid under a “severely adverse” scenario, depending on how they treated assets used to offset taxes, the Federal Housing Finance Agency said in its report. The losses would leave $158.4 billion to ...
