Arizona Police Chief Criticizes Immigration Law

Posted: Apr 30, 2010

"I don't really believe that this law is going to do what the vast majority of Americans and Arizonans want, and that is to fix the immigration problem," he said. "This law ... adds new problems for local law enforcement."

But something does need to be done. It is out of control. - I have relatives in AZ. They claim

[ In Reply To ..]
that parts are being taken over by illegals.

I say unless you live in AZ you really don't know what they are going through - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
And like they said, when the feds don't work it's the job the states to step in and enforce the law.

Every state needs to do what AZ has done.... - blondie

If the federal govt can't inforce immigration laws, then the states need to step up and do it themselves. Do you know how many jobs illegal aliens take that could be given to Americans? Sickening. I live next to 2 illegal aliens from Mexico. (which I plan to change soon as possible like before this fall). They are disrespectful to say the LEAST. I cannot stand them. I used to not have issues with Mexicans, illegal or not, but these living near me have put a bad taste in my mouth. They will turn their baby that will be 2 in August loose and he will end up in my yard! That child could be ran over. They don't watch him. I can't tell you how many times I have seen him out right by the road, and his dad or mom would be sitting by the trailer, which would do no good if a car came and the baby ran out in the road. We have told them to be careful and not let him run about, but they think you are telling them what to do. They have no sense.
But the disrespect gets to me the worst.
They are so bold and brazen that they will call the cops on YOU for anything they can think of BUT THEY are illegal. They know the cops can't do anything to them. This guy turned my husband in for having a hunting rifle in our house while on probation. My husband is about to be off the probation. It was from a drug charge 5 years ago. Anyway, for no reason just will stir up something and turn you in for things like that. The law didn't do anything because they saw he was just trying to make trouble and that he himself was illegal. You know, I ought to call immigration on them. I just have other things to do with my time (like work). He doesn't work so he sits there all day and thinks of what he can do next.

NO THEY DO NOT! Stay away from my state! - We do not have any

[ In Reply To ..]
real significant problem with illegals here and I have no wish to legalize the racism we are seeing in Arizona right now. I am sorry for your husband, but that does not make it okay to spread this particular brand of profiling far and wide.

When you have a bunch of illegals running around...sm - blondie

[ In Reply To ..]
You say you have no signficant problem with illegals there. Well when they come to your area and you have to deal with them, you might change your mind. The ones leaving AZ are going to go to another state. What if a bunch of them show up in your area one day? If you had to deal with what folks in AZ are dealing with, you would be begging the state to do anything, racist or not, to get rid of their a**es. Look at the drugs they are smuggling in the US. I say border control should just shoot them on site when they cross the border illegeally. Sorry but I bet they would quit coming in the US illegally if they took a chance being shot and killed. I am sick of third world refugees taking over. I have no patience AT ALL for illegal Mexicans.

If you have no significant problem then you can not speak - For those of us who do!

[ In Reply To ..]
Come on down to the border and stay for a couple of weeks. I think your eyes will be fully opened. If you don't live near the situation, you have no idea what is going on. We are being overrun with ILLEGALS committing crimes who can not then be prosecuted because they jump back across the border.

If you haven't experience, then don't cast aspersion on those of us who have been victims of these criminals!
I lived in Arizona for awhile. And I would like to - point out that I said
[ In Reply To ..]
to stay away from MY state! I did not cast apsersions on anyone. You guys are just looking for something to react negatively to-you don't even really read the posts, you just react.
Things have changed drastically - You do not know Arizona today

White House Criticizes Ruling On Obama's Immigration ActionApr 09, 2015
A federal judge has wrongly prevented "common-sense policies" from taking effect by blocking President Barack Obama's executive action that seeks to shield millions of immigrants from deportation, and the federal government plans to continue its fight in a higher court, the White House said Wednesday. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the policies are in the best interest of the economy and supported by businesses, faith leaders and local law enforcement across the country, "includ ...

Mexican Police Chief Killed With F&F RifleJul 09, 2013
The police chief was killed in January of this year but the story just came out yesterday. It would be wise to keep the pressure up on this gun-running scandal since more people are being killed in Mexico every day and there have been some incidences of murder in the border states, especially AZ and TX. This also is the reason why Immigration Reform should NOT be done until border security is done FIRST. The below story was found on one site called Power Line but the more involved story is ...

Ferguson Police Chief News ConferenceAug 15, 2014
The police officer who killed MB did not stop MB due to being a robbery suspect.  He clearly, repeatedly, stated that this cop did not know there was a robbery, he only stopped him because he was walking down the street.  Chief states his info is from St. Louis County Police Dept interview with police officer who did the shooting.  Sort of pulls the wind from the sails of that "big mean, strong arm robber," and feeling threatened because he is such a criminal.  Then the med ...
