Tucson, Arizona tragedy

Posted: Jan 8, 2011

Let's all join in prayer for the people in Tucson, Arizona.  My heart breaks for the victims' families.  God bless the little 9-year-old girl who also died.  It is impossible to understand why these things happen.

Senseless TragedyDec 27, 2010
Two 12 year old boys in our community were playing with a gun belonging to the father of one of them, not knowing it was loaded, and it went off, killing one of them two days before Christmas.  His funeral is tomorrow.  I don't know either of the families, and yet I feel the loss in the community, in the air of sorrow that's settled over the city. I am overwhelmed by the senselessness of it all!  This poor child will have to live the rest of his life knowing he killed h ...

Who Owns The Border Death Truck Tragedy? Jul 27, 2017
Florida truck driver James Matthew Bradley isn't the mastermind of the human smuggling ring that led to the grisly deaths of 10 illegal immigrants in his rig, which authorities found at a San Antonio Walmart over the weekend. He's just a cog in the machine. Bradley may now face the death penalty for transporting up to 100 people crammed in the trailer of his 18-wheeler. But what about the open-borders overlords making a real killing off this insatiable racket? I'm looking ...

Arizona Gov. Fires BackMay 21, 2010
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer launched a double-barrage back Thursday at President Obama's Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who took the occasion of his state visit to Washington to twice criticize the law of an American state. “I think that’s really unfortunate," Brewer told Greta Van Susteren on the Fox News Channel. "I don’t believe he understands what the law actually says and I don’t mean that derogatory. The fact of ...

Prayer For Arizona FirefightersJul 01, 2013
Sitting here this a.m. thinking about the 19 lives lost and 1 spared.  I pray for the families that lost fathers, husbands, sons, brothers, and possibly sisters, wives, daughters. Such a tragic loss.  I cannot begin to experience what these families are going through.  May God bless them and help them get through this difficult time.  I went through a devastating house fire over 2 years ago where everything I owned was lost.  I am so thankful that my fiance and cat an ...

Obama Pulling Ahead In Arizona. Does This Mean The GOPOct 14, 2012
Not to make too much of it now, as you can see from below, but Obama COULD win Arizona now and what about the future? Over half of our Hispanics are strongly conservative. Will GOP leaders finally bite the bitter bullet and start embracing "those" and their growing demographic if they want to keep winning elections in future? And how much of its base will that cost them? (In any case, I predict a new admiration for Mexican tile backslashes...some day. :) For now, we've already seen ...

Arizona Republican Pamela Gorman Fires Guns In AdsJun 30, 2010
Let's all get us a submachine gun and start firing! Seems to be the thing to do these days. Arizona Republican congressional candidate Pamela Gorman shoots four separate firearms, including an automatic rifle, in her latest ad. The ad splices together glamour shots of Gorman, a state senator, with her firing off rounds in the Arizona desert. “This year a lot of folks think this is our best shot at changing Congress,” the narrator of the ad says. “Course that ...

Mexican Drug Cartel Allegedly Puts A Price On Arizona Sheriff's HeadAug 04, 2010
He's been at the center of the discussions and controversies surrounding illegal immigration enforcement in Arizona for quite a while. On the day parts of Arizona's immigration law, SB 1070, went into effect, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is in the news for another reason: there's a price on his head - allegedly offered by a Mexican drug cartel. The audio message in Spanish is a bit garbled, but the text is clear. It's offering $1 million for Sheriff Joe Arpai ...
