Ahhhh, Nancy.....bless her heart.

If you look at just her quotes....the message did not even come close to getting through to her.   I thought someone posted about what a smart woman she is.

to be from her state. It's the likes of Boxer and Pelosi that make people think Californians are all crazy, liberal, granola munching, hairy armpitted wingnuts. If you take a look at our "blue" state, you will see that the only place it's blue is in the highly populated SF Bay Area (my neck of the woods) and the L.A. area. The rest of the state is red. Get out into the valleys and it's all red - God's country.

Totally agree--in fact, my new philosophy is - s/m

if the right-wing is against her, she must be great. Afterall, rich Wall Streeters, bankers and insurance types all love the 'pubs, and hate the poor, and since I am closer to being poor than rich, I think I will stick with the dems and Pelosi, if they so choose her. It is up to the Democrats in the House to make that choice and they seem to be working for me and not the 'pubs, so whatever is just fine with me. Speaker Pelosi is one tough, hard-working woman. Not a quitter.

Nice array of Democratic talking points....not much truth there, but... - sam

[ In Reply To ..]
whatever floats your boat. The Democrats like the rich wall streeters real well while they were leveraging them into buying all those mortgages that went south and hellooo economy down the tubes...that is the Democratic way. And also when they donate big time to the DNC. THOSE corporations they lovvveeee. Get someone in a mess and then abandon ship. I think "seem to be working for you" is the operative word.

The "pubs" as you call them don't hate the poor. They don't hate anyone that I can see. They object to we the working people paying for the "poor" who could work, just choose not to because food stamps and welfare pay more. I am not a Republican, but hey...I object that too. I also object to turning health insurance over to the tune of trillions when the economy is tanking as we speak to insure the 30 million uninsured who are largely so because they WANT it that way. The Republicans tend to object to that too.

I would not have objected to bailing out GM if they had ALSO bailed out all the mom and pop dealerships who crashed and burned while GM was going down. But hey...that is the DEM way. Save the corporation, let the little people eat dirt. Yeah, those Dems LOVE the little people. Gimme a break.

Do you think people really buy that stuff you just posted? I am amazed that you do. I suppose you have not researched Chris Dodd and Barney Frank and their culpability in the housing crisis that caused the economy to start tanking? Of course NOT. Certainly would not support your argument that the Democrats loveee the poor and hate the rich...oh sorry, they love the RICH's money so they can redistribute it to the "poor" unwilling to work.

SIGHHHHH.

Gosh, I thought you would be proud of me - for learning from the 'pubs

Just dig in your heels, say no, and a make a pretend phony effort.
You've got a pigeon hole for - everything
[ In Reply To ..]
Dems = Bad
Pubs = Good
People for UHC = People who want to take other people's money.
Someone on this board agrees with someone else = It's the same person talking to herself.

Ever heard of projection? You've got it bad.
Ever heard of tunnel vision...you've got THAT bad. - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
First of all, you will note as I have said over and over, not a Republican. Independent. Have also said I am watching the new Repoublicans in Congress just like the last bunch...and if you think I would not vote Democrat next round to send some of them packing if THEY don't listen to the people, you are sadly mistaken. That is because I am an American first. I don't owe allegiance to anything but my country, certainly not to a freakin political party who I know only have THEIR best interests, wants and needs at heart, not the people's, and I certainly don't let them do my thinking for me.

Dems = bad...well, they have done some pretty disastrous things to this country. They passed the law to raid Social Security Trust Fund, ROBBING poor people who in good faith had money taken out of every check to save for their retirement because THEIR government said it was a good idea and they would protect them. That was SHAMEFUL. Yep, the Democrats love the American people, especially their seniors. But, sorry old folks, we had to fund all those gimme programs for people who don't wanna work for it.

The Democrats fought the Civil Rights Act for YEARS. They really wanted to take care of the black folk, didn't they? The Republicans finally got it pushed through in 1964 (yes, that was a great pub thing). Lyndon Johnson's famous words, "We have lost the south forever" meaning southern democrats who did not want the law passed. So how did they replace that? By appealing to that brand new voting block....and here comes the great society and the war on poverty and the birth of entitlement programs out the kazoo. Yep, Democrats just love the little people (especially when they can use them).

Then we have the housing bubble burst in a flagrant in-your-face I am right and you are wrong give all those people who can't afford them housing which caused all the banks to fail right up to wall street and here we are in the worst mess yet. Yes, Barney was really thinking about the little people then, the ones who would have to pay for his arrogance in spite of warnings from the nasty old pubs. Shame on those nasty old pubs for trying to make him see what he was about to do. They should be tarred and feathered.

So, I would say the Democrats have done a lot of nasty, self-serving things (those who have served in the government and kow-towed to the DNC, to be specific).

UHC - only want to take peoples' money. Well, that is an absurd blanket statement and with all due respect, the Dems seem to be using a lot of that lately. My main problem with UHC is, if you will read most of the posts, is simple. We as a country are in the worst financial shape we have been in as a country since the great depression, and now they (and apparently you) think it is an ideal time to trot out an experiment that would cost a country teetering on bankruptcy trillions more, you tell ME. What about that makes ANY kind of sense?

Did you not see the feedback from the conference Obama was just in where we were roundly criticized by other countries (some of whom hold our debt) because of poor fiscal policy?

What more would it take for you to change course? Another twin towers?

Try looking at something other than through Democratic party glasses, would you please? Look at the history!!

And please, DO tell me as I have asked before you have not yet, what facts, what tangible evidence can you have that would lead you to believe that a government who could not administer the Vet health program and Medicare could POSSIBLY administer universal health care without losing money and rampant fraud? I know you are not stupid, so the only other reason I can see is you fully understand it has a 95% chance of failure, you just don't care about that or the consequences of that.

BIGGG SIGHHHHH.

Pubs = good. What I see about what the pubs are SAYING right now is good. Now whether they deliver is a whole other story. Do I like everything Republicans have done? No. I think the Iraq thing could have been handled better. I do not disagree with going in but I sure disagree with how it was prosecuted and how it went on and on and on and STILL goes on and on and on. I stopped buying we're looking for bin laden during the Bush admin and I don't buy it now from the Obama admin. I think we have spent enough time and American money and lives looking for one man. However....it is such a mess now they don't dare stop it so....I guess the Dems and Pubs SHARE that one.

Of course, the Nixon admin was not a shining one for the pubs...the Carter administration was an embarrassment period...Clinton was okay and yes, I think he accomplished some good things, until he let the wrong head do the thinking, but that's a man for ya, Pub or Dem.

So you see, I see problems with a lot of politicians. I can see some really big things the Dems have engineered tho that fly in the face of what they say they represent...that being the little people. They can SAY that all they want...all you have to do is look at history and compare that to what they have DONE.

And you ask why I hate political parties. If I hate ANYTHING, that would be it.
More projection - and unwitting at - that

Prove any of the things I attributed to Democrats wrong.... - sam

Go ahead. Better yet, trot on up to Washington and look in the Congressional Record. If you even know what that is. Or more importantly, even care. The answer to that is obvious.
You should take your own advice - advice
[ In Reply To ..]
Your passion is evident albeit based on a narrow view. You spend far too much time talking and listening to biased opinions.

Do yourself a favor and take your blinders off. Spend some time taking a good look at the Republicans without them.
Right back at ya...lol. Unfortunately.... - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
I cannot lay raiding social security, voting against the Civil rights act for years, and this present financial crisis on the Republicans. Had they engineered any of those things, I would GLADLY lay it at their feet because I, unlike you obviously, hold politicians accountable. You only hold the OTHER party accountable and you could care LESS what YOUR party does. Now WHY is that? Why do you keep your blinders firmly in place and tell me to remove mine? Do YOURself a favor.

Those are not biased opinions. Those are facts. It is in the Congressional Record of these United States. Each and every thing I mentioned.

Geez, if you want to, go back to the civil war days. Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN. It was southern Democrats who didn't want the slave trade stopped.

Face it. THAT is the history of YOUR party. You can't change it. But I guess since you can't change it and won't own up to it, your blinders are permanent and that is just sad.

You should take your own advice. You really have no high ground to stand on right now.
If you don't even know about the evolution of the - parties
[ In Reply To ..]
there's really no use. You really need to study up, or at least stop being so passionate about that which you do not understand. Your time could be spent in a much more constructive manner.
Evolution of parties? Barney Frank debacle was not that long ago... - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
but I see you are buying the old party line and looking at what has been a distinct PATTERN since the 1800's.

And please stop with the condescending orders not to be passionate about something I don't understand. I understand it perfectly.

Your time could be spent in a more constructive manner as well...instead of saying democratisms like "if you don't even know about the evolution of the parties" and start to think for yourself...I know about revisionist history and how the DNC is trying to re-write it...believe me.

And yet you would rather just believe it than to do your due diligence that you are lecturing ME to do.

again...never support any comments and do a condescending drive-by. Also seems to be a pattern with your party.
You can't be serious... please do yourself - a favor
[ In Reply To ..]
and study. Just take some time and study the evolution of the parties for starters.
You assume that I have not.... - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
This paper historically supports exactly what I am saying.

And I am sure you can produce some left wing revisionist history to go along with this. This evolution paper is historically accurate. The last paragraph is particularly telling and anyone who knows anything about Democrats and Republicans today have no problem telling which parties are being referred to.

You might try reading it with an open mind.
Here's some history for you. I guess history says it all - Right?
[ In Reply To ..]

Be sure to click on the national debt graph. It's quite lovely.
Why not address the subject of the original post without changing it? - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
and while you are at it, google national debt and look at the CBS article where the numbers support that fact that Obama's budget will make him surpass everyone on the graph. CBS is hardly a conservative bastion.
The point is your "look at the history" only works when it agrees - with what you want it to
[ In Reply To ..]
You can't have it both ways.
I posted the national debt graph, but one more thing - I read
[ In Reply To ..]
the historical article you posted a LONG time ago.

You seem to miss the fact that Lincoln cared about the slaves the way no republican would today. There is much more also. Both the Republican and the Democratic party have evolved.

Get it?
Well, the republicans of the 60's thought enough African Americans.. - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
to keep fighting to get them the vote. The democrats, as late as the 1960's, were still against giving them the vote.

Get it?

Please support, with facts, your supposition that Republicans would not care about slaves today? And that Democrats would (unless they could vote, of course, which is when the Democratic party became interested in African Americans again...yeah, that is REAL evolving).

Please. You have been propagandized until you don't know where the Democratic party stops and you begin...if there IS such a point.
Wrong! - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
became interested in Democrats because of the New Deal. You are so drowned in propaganda, or maybe it's a sheet.

I'm sorry...part of your post is missing..WHO became interested in Democrats because... - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
African Americans? Or do you mean Democrats got interested in African Americans because of the New Deal?

Please explain, trying to understand.

Whatever you mean, it does not change the fact that Democrats fought giving American Americans the vote until 1964 when Republicans finally managed to get it through (voting along straight party lines, Dems almost to a man/woman against it), when Lyndon Johnson muttered his famous "We have lost the south forever" and he meant as a voting block because it ticked off southern Democrats...remember George Wallace? Have you read any of the history of the 60's and the marches and all the African Americans that were killed down south just because they wanted the vote? Well, it was not Democrats who got that for them. Republicans got the slaves freed and Republicans finally were able to get enough votes to pass the Voting Rights Act.

And Lyndon Johnson DID expound on the new deal with the War on Poverty, so that they could attract the new voting block of African Americans to replace the white southern democrats they lost.

The New Deal had nothing to do with either of those events. Unless you can give me some proof that it did. If the Democrats were really interested in the African Americans at the time of the New Deal, why wouldn't they pass law to let them vote? A basic human right?? The party who is all about human rights?

Well I guess they had to come up with something when people starting doing research and saying hey, wait a minute....

a lot more than some others posters on this board. She is in touch with reality. She is not a one-sided party affiliate and doesn't defend either party. Her eyes are open. I just wish other posters on this board would research and post facts or sources before defending and/or ridiculing the failures of our past and present governing bodies.

Snide remarks to her just because she doesn't agree with someone is not necessary. She gives her opinion and most of the time, her opinions are based on facts, which is more important than drive-by, hateful remarks that I've seen on here. It would be nice if more posters would go by facts but I guess that's wishful thinking.
According to sam, you are sam. - Doncha love it?

Anyway, how can you come to the conclusion that sam has an open mind? She says she's not affiliated with either party, but many people hide behind the "Independent" name. Being "Independent" has nothing to do with having an open mind.

Instead of attacking me, why not defeend your party? Hard to defend the indefensible, so attack the messenger.

All those things, they okay with you? They give you the warm and fuzzy about the Dem politicians? Make them so much more appealing than the "pubs" as you call them. You know, people would not bring up things like that if they did not hear ad nauseam about how the Democrats are for the little people. That is just not true and no matter how much you try to sugar coat it, what Democrats SAY and what they DO are two entirely different things.

And when challenged, all they got is "you need medication."

I rest my case.

[ In Reply To ..]

I really don't think anybody hates her...I don't hate her... - sam

[ In Reply To ..]
She just has a tenuous grasp on reality is all. You really think a great job is going into a press conference and announcing that you have to pass the bill before you can understand it...you really, honestly, think that was a great job? To sit in an interview and say the shellacking was due to the people being out of jobs? Despite what all the exit polls (both dem and republican exit polls though you really have to hunt for the dem ones) showing that the main reason for the shellacking was two-fold...they didn't want Obamacare and the Prez and Congress shoved it through anyway, leading to the second biggest deal, THEY ARE NOT LISTENING TO US. And again...it is not just "pubs." It was conservative and middle of the road Democrats and Independents who swung republican this time. And what the republicans need to realize is this was not an endorsement of them...they need to do what they say they are going to do, or the next shellacking may go the OTHER way. There are a lot of people totally disgusted with the party system and I am one of them...and I am not the only one. THAT is what she would realize if she was as smart as people on this board think she is. But they, like her, can't stop being a Democrat long enough to have an INDEPENDENT thought. They really should TRY it some time.

Yeah, keep fooling yourself. Pelosi is practically an - enemy to the average American!!!!!

And no, she is not smart. She is evil.
