I don't see why people think it's okay for big corporations to get away with paying minimum wage to hard working employes when there is no way they can make ends meet on their wages.

These are the people who are getting government assistance for goodness sakes. Why do I have to pay for their food when they work hard for their employer who is a billion dollar corporation who doesn't pay them enough, thus forcing them into the system? How does that make sense at all?

Let them raise their prices (but I bet they would not...empty threats and again, makes no sense), then people will shop at businesses who charge a little more that actually treat their employees with dignity (and have produce that is not rotting)... they'll all be on the same playing field.

A customer service manager on average makes $10.41. A regular old cashier makes $8.54 on average. Do you think those are good wages? I was hired as a clerk at a grocery store a few months ago at $12 an hour. That was the initial salary. And Walmart starts certified pharmacy techs at $9?

I did not write the post about the Obamas being low class so you'll have to ask that person. However, I do agree with that person. The Obamas have taken advantage of the system and done things for personal gain with taxpayer money that they never would have been able to afford on their own. Period.

The figures posted are NOT their PERSONAL expenses. They are all TAXYPAYER expenses.

Figures for Air Force One flight hour costs have risen since these trips. Air Force One now costs at least $228, 288 per fight hour.

The president, first lady Michelle Obama, and their daughters, traveled to Africa last summer and then to Honolulu over the winter – and the cost of the flights alone on Air Force One came to $15,888,585, according to Judicial Watch.

The family’s flights on Air Force One for their 17-day Christmas vacation to Honolulu between December 2013 and January 2014 totaled 36.9 hours at a cost of $210,877 an hour, adding up to $7,781,361.

Furthermore, Judicial Watch also revealed that the flight costs for the family’s trip in August last year to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, was $1,164,268.

Air Force documents obtained via a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act lawsuit reveal that Michelle Obama, the first daughters and their entourage cost taxpayers $7,670,476.80 in flights to, from and around Ireland during their June 17-19 trip in 2013.

Documents from the Department of Homeland Security obtained by the government watchdog via the January 13, 2014 lawsuit further revealed that the total cost for “security and/or other services” for a side trip to Dublin by Michelle Obama and her entourage was $251,161.86. That total included $55,004.85 spent at the Shelbourne Hotel and $70,855.44 at the Westbury Hotel.

The documents reveal that taxpayers spent a total of at least $7,921,638.66 on the first lady’s trip.

Another watchdog group, the National Taxpayers Union Foundation, revealed earlier this month that Obama has spent more time traveling internationally than any other modern president at a skyrocketing cost to taxpayers.

The foundation’s report was released Monday as the president started a five-day, five-country trip to Europe and the Middle East. The survey says that Obama has taken 31 foreign trips totaling 119 days since assuming office in 2009.

While the cost of the trip to American citizens had not yet been added up, it will certainly raise eyebrows because Obama was accompanied by 900 staff and security personnel as well as 45 vehicles and three cargo planes.

The Belgium government, however, has calculated that its bill for extra police, military security and transport expenses will be $13.8 million – and that was just for a 24-hour visit from the president to attend European Union and NATO summits, according to The Guardian.
