My desk faces a window that looks out on a huge tree in my front yard. It's a big beautiful tree that shades the yard and helps keep my office cool in the summer and blocks the sun from hitting my eyes. Last week the tree was still green. Every morning this week as I sit down at my desk and open the blind I'm greeted by a brand new picture as the leaves are turning first bright yellow and now going into orange. When the wind picks up I get to see a dazzling shower of gold falling from the tree.
Fall is such a gorgeous time of year, and yet it's rather sad in a way, knowing that soon the trees will be bare and another winter will be upon us. But as much as I hate the cold, I love being able to sit at my desk and watch the snowfall, especially since I know I won't have to battle the weather every day to get to work.
Once I'm tired of the monochrome colors of winter, I'll be looking forward to seeing tiny new leaves sprouting on my tree in the bright shade of springtime green that makes everything look fresh and new again, and waiting to catch a glipse of my first robin, whose arrival announces that spring has truly arrived. And the cycle of life continues....
;How nice is to read something here that is uplifting and hopeful, such as a tree that regenerates each year. Thank you for posting about your beautiful tree! There's a gorgeous sugar maple outside my window, too. It's ruby red with tones of orange peeking through. Today. It's just as pretty today against the gray sky as it is on clear days with blue skies.
