Scratches on new car window

Just bought a new car and the rear window or driver side rear door window has 2 scratches in it that are deep and now they are going to replace the window. I hate doing that in a new car and I am wondering if that is a project to get that window out or what because I dont want the door panel torn. This is a 4 door car. Why is it that new things always need fixed anymore.

that isn't defective nowdays, but that seems to be a trend. A good reputable dealership will have no problem replacing a window. Take a photo of the defective window, door and surrounding area of car. That way if any new scratches or damage appear you will have proof of the condition of car before work was done.

My desk faces a window that looks out on a huge tree in my front yard. For those that are really handy around the house maybe you can help me. I have aluminum windows in my house and the one I use a lot the cord broke in the one side and the spring mechanism fell out so I can still put it up but it is wobbly. I have no idea if this can be fixed or replaced or what have you. I dont want new windows because the rest in this house never get used but I do use the one by my work station.
