I just wanted to share this with everyone as I think it is so awesome. My church had a Christmas Eve service last night. We sang carols, the old ones. Now my church is small and our choir during the year has at best 20 members. A lot of people came in for the holidays to spend with their families and some of them joined our choir for the service which raised it up to about 30 members, more or less. Well the main hymn, anthem or whatever was the Halleuia (?) chorus from Handel's messiah. It was flawless. No, it wasn't a full chorale but those 30 people gave it 1000% and it sounded just as good if not better than if they had 100 people in the chorale. People stood up at the end of the chorus and when it was done, there was an ovation! Believe me, in the Episcopal church, those things are not done in service. But this was well earned. It was soo beautiful and it was perfect. Merry Christmas to all. Jesus is the reason for the season. Isaiah 9:6-7. ;

[ In Reply To ..]I attend a very large church. They have to hold the Christmas services on two different days, nine services in all. I went with my sister-in-law on Monday night at 7 pm. The auditorium holds several hundred people. They turned the lights off and the ceiling and all walls were covered with stars. Then row by row we all lit candles. It truly was beautiful!
