Sarah Shops A Reality ShowMar 05, 2010
It's been the money all along!!!!   So much for "helping" the country.  Now we all can watch her lying on her bed watching bridal shows while her older children tend to and feed the younger ones.   ...

Would You Admit Your Relative Was On A Reality Show?Sep 12, 2010
I happened to be changing channels today and saw one of my relatives on a show on Bravo.  One part of me thought good for her! The other part of me said to keep quiet about it.  Do you know someone whose been on a reality show? Was s/he portrayed true to his/her real character? ...

A New Reality Show Starring Rapper Shawty Lo And His 11 ChildrenJan 08, 2013
There is plenty of outrage about this. When will this stuff stop? Is it greed (money) or is it fame? Change.org has a petition going and there's 23,000 people who signed it. There's Sister Wives, Honey Boo-Boo, Toddlers and Tiaras, Buck Wild, the new "Redneck" (from WV), and others to name a few. I certainly think these shows need to go. It degrades the people in these shows and dumbs down our society.    http://www.11alive.com/news/article/271475/40/Former-GA-resident-lead ...

Did Anyone Catch The Beck Show? Not His Usual ShowNov 13, 2009
If anyone didn't catch it, I'd encourage you to watch it this weekend.  It wasn't his usual show that everyone hates.  He had an audience (not sure if there were any white people, mostly African-American) and they were talking about issues and problems.  Most of them voted for Obama and they discussed issues going on.  It was very interesting. One guy showed Obama where he grew up in the Harlam and what it was like for him growing up.  It was just a very g ...

Who Needs Reality TVAug 17, 2010
So, I was super excited about getting out of the house for a lunch date with the gals.  I woke up early, showered, shaved the legs, ironed a pretty little low cut dress but found that the sides of my bra strap were sticking out.  Tried on a couple of other bras, nothing was working.  I decided to try a safety pin.  In the process I broke the plastic front closure of the bra.  No biggie, I still have the safety pins out so, pinned that too.  Satisfied with my morning ...

How Much This Has Become RealityNov 07, 2012
This is a broadcast from Paul Harvey done 47 years ago.  How much of this has become the reality of today's world!  So many people are watching this, it may take time to load or several attempts to get to, but worth the wait. ...

Reality Stars? Really?? SmMar 22, 2011
Was watching Celebrity Apprentice last night- now we are lumping 'reality stars' in with people who actually did something to become famous?  Seriously???  What is that about?  It seems like we have become a society where reality TV seems like it is not real, and stuff that is supposed to be real like politics, the news, etc. is all staged for show now.  I do realize they are scraping the bottom of the barrel this season- it's kind of resembling 'The Surr ...

Potentiality Vs RealityAug 31, 2010
Youngest Son: “Tell me Daddy, what is the difference between “Potentiality” and “Reality”?” Dad: “I will show you” Dad turns to his wife and asks her: “Would you sleep with Robert Redford for 1 million dollars”? Wife: “Yes of course! I would never waste such an opportunity”… Then Dad asks his daughter, if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for 1 million dollars? Daughter:” Wow! Yes! he is my fantasy!” So ...

Can We Get Sarah A Reality Check?Jun 10, 2010
(CNN) – Sarah Palin says its time for President Barack Obama to pick up the phone and make some calls – maybe even to her.In her latest post on Facebook, the former Alaska governor takes aim at the president for not speaking directly with BP CEO Tony Hayward during the ongoing Gulf Coast crisis. Obama told NBC Tuesday that he has not spoken with Hayward because "when you talk to a guy like a BP CEO, he's gonna say all the right things to me - I'm not interested in words, I& ...

He's Losing His Grip On Reality--some Don't Aug 14, 2015
Those that call themselves Republican, that will vote for whomever is nominated....do you think the party has a problem yet???? Sources close to POLITICO say that troubles in the Trump camp were “roiling before Thursday’s debate.” Stone said he felt the “campaign team surrounding Trump was feeding his bad habits,” some of which included “megalomania and peevishness.” “He is losing his grip on reality,” Stone allegedly told friends. “He has these yes-men around him. An ...

This Week On The Washington DC RealityJul 29, 2017
A guy with a brain tumor was the swing vote on the most controversial bill in ages. The new director of White House communications could cuss the paint right off the walls. A rock star and a WWF wrestler turned movie star want to audition for next season run for office. An honorable mention for a decision-maker with impaired judgment must go to Senator Nancy Pelosi, who can’t even recall who the President is and really, honestly, acts as though she could potentially have the beginni ...

Flying Car A Step Closer To RealityJun 30, 2010
Weird-looking cars are a dime a dozen. Far less common are weird-looking cars that can also fly AND have approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. Indeed, as far as we know, there's only one of those babies: The Terrafugia Transition. The private aircraft/funky-looking car has been in the news before. But the recent announcement that it's going into production sparked mega-searches on the Web. Almost immediately, online lookups for "terrafugia transition" and "terrafug ...

Reality Check: It's Time To Come To Terms With Sep 13, 2012
the political and religious movements that fuel it.  Obviously there is a blurred line between freedom of speech and incitement that needs sharp focus and more precise definition.  If we can't find the fix, the ghost of bin Laden will haunt us for generations to come.  Just sayin. ...

The Alarming Reality Behind Opposition To Hagel As SecDefDec 26, 2012
This is really about whether we want a war in the Middle East that  would dwarf anything we've been involved in there before.  Excerpts from: "Neocons Against Chuck Hagel: The Independent Senator Who Wouldn't Genuflect," by Doug Bandow, Senior Fellow. First, excerpts about him and them. Lower down about the end-times/Christian Zionist theology powering the Neocons and trying to lead us into what they see ultimately as Armageddon. The entire article is at the link below. ...

For Liberal Israelis, Netanyahu's Win Is A Reality CheckMar 21, 2015
Israeli liberals woke up after national elections with a demoralizing feeling: Most of the country, in a deep and possibly irreversible way, does not think like they do. There had been a sense of urgency among moderate Israelis, and even an ounce of hope, that widespread frustration with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's six straight years in office would lead voters to pull Israel away from what they perceive as its rightward march toward international isolation, economic inequality a ...

Froma Harrop: Public Workers Must Join New RealityMar 10, 2011
This was a very good article in Tuesday's paper. Too bad the showdown with public employee unions has come to this. One can be pro-union and still feel a growing resentment at these workers. They aren't to blame. They got what they could, though they overplayed their hand by resisting honest efforts to reform government and schools. Public employees are fighting to keep their old-fashioned defined-benefit plans. Such plans promise to pay a set amount to each qualified retiree. If t ...

Reality Check: Feds Released Hundreds Of ImmigrantsFeb 26, 2013
prelude to Friday's upcoming sequester budget cuts.  Quite naturally, the GOP is having their predictable coniptions.  Meanwhile, ICE is trying to maintain their capacity to prioritize cases of actual deportable criminal offenders before punitive measures against family breadwinners, i.e. dads, moms, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, grandparents, neighbors and friends.  They also anticipate the loss of more than 5,000 border agent jobs sooner rather than later.  The d ...

Fascinating TV Show From 60sNov 09, 2009
Just happened to switch to a channel showing 60s version of a 'Boston Legal' type show.  Came in on the middle of the show but the plot was about a man who lost everything he had ever worked for because of an illness he could not pay for - no insurance or insuffienty insurance (not clear). Not only was he dying from the disease, he was crushed by the financial disaster his illness caused. What I was so struck by was the closing statement:  And remember this show w ...

Tickets To A ShowNov 16, 2009
OK, here is the deal.... I have a 20 y/o and a 13 y/o and the holidays are soon approaching.  I always get a family gift we can all enjoy; last year it was the Wii.  This year I thought it would be fun to get tickets to see a family show and Disney on Ice is way too young for my kids and some shows are over my 13 year old's head... so I am thinking Blue Man Group or Stomp.  Of course I live in a little podunk town in Iowa so my destigntions are limited... mainly to Omaha ...

Hoarders (the Show)Jan 02, 2010
Has anyone seen that show (Hoarders)?  It's one one of the DirecTV channels - Discovery or The Learning Channel or something like that.  Now, I admit that DH is a packrat and without me around, it would be a tad cluttered around here.  When he accumulates too much crap, I box it up, label it and put it in the attic.  If he doesn't miss it for several years, it goes in the garbage.  I thought we had a clutter problem.  Wrong.  They go into these peopl ...

Men Of A Certain Age -- Excellent ShowFeb 01, 2010
Just love this new show!  I've been following it since it started and it only gets better.  It is so smart and clever and well written.  I so look forward to Monday nights.  What gets me is choosing which new series to start watching and then hoping it doesn't get canceled.  Or not starting with a new series and then it ends up being a huge hit.  Just can't win when it comes to that.  If you haven't seen it, you gotta catch it -- tonigh ...

Hillary Put On Quite A ShowJan 23, 2013
during her Benghazi testimony. Gotta luv her little show of outrage. TRANSCRIPT: SENATOR JOHNSON: Again, again we were mislead that there were supposedly protests and something then sprang out of that, an assault sprang out of that, and that was easily ascertained that that was not the fact, and the American people could've known that within days and they didn't know that. HILLARY CLINTON: With all due respect, the fact is we had 4 dead Americans. Was it because of a p ...
