Reality check: Feds released hundreds of immigrants

prelude to Friday's upcoming sequester budget cuts. Quite naturally, the GOP is having their predictable coniptions. Meanwhile, ICE is trying to maintain their capacity to prioritize cases of actual deportable criminal offenders before punitive measures against family breadwinners, i.e. dads, moms, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, grandparents, neighbors and friends. They also anticipate the loss of more than 5,000 border agent jobs sooner rather than later. The discussion of alternative programs to detention that have proven successful in the past is interesting.

[ In Reply To ..]Even if he's the bad idea dealer you think he is, both parties bought it. Now I get it, there was a lot of peer pressure on the Republicans. All the cool Tea Party kids were in to budget cuts, but the House Republicans still voted 174 to 66 and Senate Republicans voted 28 to 19, so personal responsibility has to come in to it. This is why it's so important for us to sit down with our elected representatives and talk to them about the dangers of doing any legislation they come across.

Scare tactics and breaking the law are two of the most despicable crimes any government can do. As this week has gone on, the Democrats are threatening to do more harm to our country by breaking the law.
Just because President Obama thought he'd get one up on the GOP and the GOP didn't fall for it, he once again, is trying desperately to scare the people into forcing game changes. Not gonna work.
Sooner or later, he will be brought up on impeachment charges for the harm he has done to our country. There's talk of it now even though talk is cheap.

Washington (CNN) - The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is releasing "several hundred" people out of detention facilities to other "less costly" forms of supervision because of pending forced budget cuts, the agency said on Tuesday.
Gillian Christensen, a customs enforcement spokeswoman, said the cases were reviewed over the past week as part of agency preparations for $85 billion government-wide cuts due to take effect on Friday absent congressional action to avert them.
"As fiscal uncertainty remains over the continuing resolution and possible sequestration, ICE has reviewed its detained population to ensure detention levels stay within ICE's current budget," she said in a statement.
"ICE has reviewed several hundred cases and placed these individuals on methods of supervision less costly than detention. All of these individuals remain in removal proceedings. Priority for detention remains on serious criminal offenders and other individuals who pose a significant threat to public safety," she said.
