Rev. Al Sharpton owes millions in taxes

An investigation by The New York Times found that Rev. Al Sharpton owes more than $4.5 million in current state and federal taxes.
The figure includes taxes from Sharpton's personal income as well as from his for-profit company, Raw Talent and Revals Communications. Sharpton apparently owes more than $3 million in personal federal tax liens and $777,657 in state tax liens. Raw Talent and Revals Communications, meanwhile, owe another $717,329 in state and federal tax liens.
Sharpton's non-profit company, the National Action Network, has apparently underpaid the government federal taxes as well. The National Action Network's tax liability increased from $900,000 in 2003 to almost $1.9 million in 2006.
Guess the Reverend is too busy trying to stir up racial tensions in Missouri and anywhere else he "believes" he is needed. Maybe his friends, Obama, Holder, and Jackson, will bail him out?

All you have to do is click on the New York Times link in the OP's article. There, it discloses his myriad financial problems, the issues over which he has been forced to testify, and the fact that he has both white and black friends, including, but not limited to, Mayor de Blasio of NYC, and Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York.

It irritates me because I don't believe he is sincere, but involves himself in order to keep a high profile. No doubt that the high profile was instrumental in getting him his cable show, for which he probably earns a nice chunk of change. Everyone knows controversial figures make for good TV, right? It is in Al's financial interest to remain controversial. What better way to remain controversial than to stir up the race issue, even when it's not there? Now with all that, in my opinion, ill-gotten gain, why isn't he paying his taxes? I don't think he's a sincere advocate for anyone other than himself, and I think he has done more harm than good as far as race relations go.
