Ive been offered a couple of positions......whom would you go to work for??

Please let me know the better company to work for, i.e., iMedX, Nuance, MModal, etc.

I have been with IMEDx for a year and love it there. Indeed there are low days on work volume.
HR and management have been NOTHING but nice. Benefits are good.. health, dental vision.. well except I am going into my 3rd year on Affordable care act.. just squeezed in for 2016. as better copays and all for local.
Beware Mmodal - R

I work for MM, and would not recommend it to anyone unless you like being poverty level poor. Pay sucks. Don't know about the other companies, but not here. So many rules that change each and everyday. It takes a lot out of me just to come to work each morning.
Don't go to Nuance. I wouldn't recommend it - wannie

to anyone. Your pay is grid based. If you don't meet all the metrics you don't make much.

I work for iMedX and have had to take partial unemployment. I agree they have been better to work for than my last company, but I have not been getting 10 hours in a week for the last at least 3 months. Their lines are doable at 300 lph. Maybe as a new hire you would be offered an account that will have 40 hours worth of work...
NOT Nuance - xx

I cannot speak to the other companies you mention, but Nuance is terrible. Every year, they come up with some new way to decrease our pay under the guise of "exciting new changes" (seriously, can they not come up with something more original? We all know what that drivel really means!). One must meet several "metrics" and it is that combination of metrics that determines one's pay according to where they fall on a grid. They play a very large role in determining that grid placement (QA "errors" that aren't truly errors and intentionally choosing short reports to QA) even though they pretend it's all up to the MT. They babble incessantly about "getting on the grid" and how it's completely within our ability to do so, yet they intentionally set us up for failure. Quite frankly, I cannot believe it is legal to lose 100s of dollars from a paycheck for a very minor error not affecting patient care but it happens here. All the time. Lots of OOW. Multiple accounts all with different accounts specs. OT is figured very unfairly yet they act like they are doing us some huge favor when OT is offered. So much work is expected to be done for free. The treatment of their MTs is disrespectful and demoralizing. They are incredibly dishonest, from the TSMs (the facade they put on that they are on our side is part of their job--they are paid to get us to believe that) all the way up. Really, I could go on at great length, but the unfair grid pay system and horrible treatment of MTs stand out as particularly horrendous. Simply put, I cannot urge you strongly enough to avoid Nuance.
Unless you want to work for free, stay away from Nuance! - Ben Dover

I left months ago and from what I see on the Nuance board things have only gotten worse. From what I've gleaned MModal is not any better. Good luck to you!
I can tell you who to run away from - Nick

I would run as fast as I could from either Nuance or M*Modal. I don't know anything good or bad about iMedX. Maybe someone else on here works for/has worked for them and can come on and give you some help. I worked for M*Modal in one of its earlier incarnations and wouldn't do it again, even if you offered me a dollar per line. No kidding. It has been my experience that the smaller the company, the better you are treated. When you get up to the level of the big corporations, they just look on you like you are chattel.

I worked for MM for 3 years. Awful. They filed Chapter 11 last year. Cut in benefits, cut in PTO. You have an actual time manager, account manager, performance coach, and QA. All while their MTs make not much over minimum wage. Do you see red flags? Any company who has such an extensive out of work policy as MM indicates a serious problem. QA audits must be 99.65%. They change your shifts, more than once, as they please. Management really gets into emails all day long, different web sites and procedures that are nothing but busy work to justify their jobs.
Go to the MM board on this site and ask about PODS. This is something they have gone to. Many, many different accounts thrown in together in a puke pool. You may not get the same doctor twice in a day. Accounts from all over the place - each with different specs, which you must read, then MM has its own company instructions, and then you can defer to BOS. Audits weekly, and of course if you fail, they create more busy work for you to bring your score up. You must make up time or take your PTO when there is no work.
I have read that MM is one of the worst top 10 companies to work for. I personally do not know of anything worse, but I would put MM in the top 5.
Stay away from MM and N - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Find a small company. One who does not have time for all the nonsense that goes on at MM and N. One that cannot afford to over hire. One that does not need 2-3 different managers for every team. You can take a pay cut at a smaller company and still make more than the higher rate at MM and N. They are actually checking "inactive time" now and have a rule out that. Forgot the figure, but even if you pass their audits and exceed their line requirements, your fingers cannot leave the keyboard for a certain percentage of time that is absolutely crazy.
No one should have to endure what goes on at these larger companies every day. You are set up to fail and to make the least amount possible.
Although I am not particularly religious in formal sense - Nick

I do believe in karma, or what they refer to on the streets as "what goes around comes around." I have (I hope) several more decades to live and I do hope I live to see some (all!) of these big bullies (that is what they are) be brought to justice. I would love to see someone with high-up connections in the Labor Board look at certain companies with their microscopes and have the porridge really hit the fan. Nobody is going to listen to a lowly law clerk, but law clerks move on, take (and hopefully pass) the Bar, and then they get to associate with all kinds of other lawyers, some of them being of the plaintiff employment rights variety. And you can bet that some interesting fires will get lit!
