My significant other is forever sleeping on the sofa because he works second shift and it looks bad. You cant reverse the cushions on this one and those throw over things keep falling down. Any suggestions. These cushions are fixed but you can get behind them. I put a sheet on it but it looks a bit odd in the living room. I was thinking maybe a flat top flannel sheet or something that would look half decent. I believe it will stay tucked in or can someone give me any ideas. The soft is fine just the cushions are messed up from him. I dont want to buy a new sofa because that will be ruined also. Lets face it, a sheet looks like a sheet. Maybe someone can come up with something better for that sofa. Thanks much for your help. As I said we tried those throw over things and I dont like them and I dont want a total sofa cover because the sofa actually is very nice as far as the rest of it. It is just the cushion tops.

[ In Reply To ..]I just go to the fabric store and buy fabric that coordinates with the colors in the room. I buy just enough to fit over the cushions with enough to tuck in at the ends and the back. I do hem along the long edges, but if you don't sew, there are products like Liquid Stitch that you use to iron the hem down, and they work great, even in the washing machine.

[ In Reply To ..]I just got a really nice tablecloth for my mom, maybe linen not sure, dark color, it's pretty big, rounded. They have fabric at Salvation Army, curtains, bedspreads, etc, you might find something you like for cheap, sturdy, easy on the eyes. That's my suggestion.

[ In Reply To ..]I was thinking maybe a memory foam topper that can be taken on and off--it would help the cushions keep their shape. You can put a fitted sheet on the topper and just lift the whole thing off for when you need the couch for sitting.
But I'm curious--what does someone working second shift have to do with sleeping on a sofa instead of in the bed?
He usually works 10 hours so he doesnt get - PAMT
[ In Reply To ..]in until around midnight or later and then watches tv until around 2. I get up at 4:30 so I would not appreciate my tv on in the room until 2 in the morning. We work pretty much opposite shifts and he cant sleep when he gets home so that is how this worked out.
