WD question - possible spoiler inside (sm)

I just got through watching and have a question. Watched TD for the answer, but only got a partial answer. When Sam wanted the gun, I got the idea it was to kill his father - either him or his mother. After watching TD, I see that Pete is abusing Jesse - possibly Sam, from what Carol said. But what exactly did Carol say when she came into Rick's house. I played it over and over, and neither me or my husband could catch it. She said what sounded to me like, "He's "changing" Jessie. Did she say abusing or beating? I just couldn't catch it.

Glenn and Nicholas try to pry Aiden off the wall — well, Glenn tries, and Nicholas bails after a tug or two. It’s hard to hear over all the screaming and groaning, but Nicholas basically tells his buddy, “I’m outta here 'cause we’re cowards.” Aiden confirms this, admitting to Glenn that the scouts who died on his watch were his fault: “It was us. The others before. They didn’t panic. We did.”

I thought that was what Aiden said to Glen, but I wasn't sure. The warehouse scenes were just so loud, I felt like I missed bits and pieces of conversations.
Eugene really stepped up in this episode! I'm quite proud of him except it took Tara practically dying for him to finally do something. I thought it was kind of poetic how Eugene, who has been an admitted coward all this time, finally found courage in the same instant we find out how cowardly the people are in Alexandria - Aiden and his buddy and then the whole bunch at the construction site.
Should be pretty easy for Rick and the group to take over when the time comes.
