no clue. I am so irritated with her. I am not a rude person by nature, but after I said how it was NOT appreciated her constant texts/calls/dropping by, you would think she would get the hint! Apparently not!! Ah well. Wish I had a crystal ball when I first friended her. I wish she was on facebook so I could unfriend her! LOL!! This is bordering on harrassment. I am about to report her for harrassment if she keeps it up. I am going to see how today goes and if she does it again, I will be talking to law enforcement!

I don't think it's being dumb as bricks or having no clue. She needs help she's not getting (help isn't always so easy to come by in the US, don't flame me, but in other countries she could go get help *free* translation taxpayer and government-supported help, no need to flame, just the way it seems to be) - I'm talking mental health services. Really, how good can feel to be in "constant contact" with someone who doesn't want it?

If I were you, and you felt like doing a kindness (which seems like you don't, but anyway), I would give her the phone number of mental health services, and then if that doesn't work, you have to, as they like to say in corporate world, "escalate" things until you get some relief - her problems are not your problems. You have to have boundaries, just because someone else is "going crazy," they don't get to drive someone else crazy.

Hmm...driving someone crazy...doesn't it seem like an MTSO, being an MTSO, they can drive their employees crazy, and its ok...but on an individual level...you know, there are laws against that kind of thing. That's what a labor union and labor laws are - they're the "police" a worker can turn to, when they are "harassed" by an employer (in oh so many ways, Mmodal-ers, are you feeling me?). Hmmm.

I hope your friend, or "friend," gets help that she needs. I hope you get relief.

that you "didn't appreciate" her contacts, that probably was not a definite "no" to her. You need to tell her in specific terms to leave you alone, stop all contact, etc. in very specific terms. She interprets your reluctance to be rude as encouragement to continue.

rude. Think of it as being firm and establishing boundaries. Because the "friend" has no concept of social cues or boundaries, you will have to be explicit--on the order of "leave me alone" or "never contact me again, never come to my house again." Anything less will likely be seen as encouragement. I would also suggest delivering some of the message in writing so you have evidence in the event you need to seek help from the authorities. I hope it doesn't come to that. Good luck.

I would have a face to face chat with her. That way there would be no misunderstanding. You can see her face and she can see yours. I would explain my feelings to her. I would say to her to her face I have asked you to stop calling, texting, etc and you continue to do so. This is now bordering on harrassment. You are no longer allowed to call me, text me, email me, etc. If you do your number, email, etc will be blocked and you will not get in touch with me. I need you to leave me alone and have no further contact with me. Tell me right now to my face whether or not you understand what I am saying and that you will leave me alone. If you don't understand that or agree with it I will have the law enforcement people explain it to you.

You have a choice. There is nothing that says you have to take her calls, return her calls or answer her texts. It is your home, you don't have to answer the doorbell everytime it rings. I have voice mail on my cell phone and return the calls that I choose, when I choose. Text messages are easy to ignore, don't waste your time with those; again, that is your choice. You have the right to get a different cell phone number, and not divulge it to her. Get an unlisted number for your land line. You are making things worse by allowing it to continue. If you feel threatened or harrassed and it bothers you as much as you say it does, then it is time to report her to someone in authority. I seriously doubt if "unfriending" someone on Facebook would accomplish anything if she has not already gotten the hint. You need to stop playing games and deal with it. Sorry to sound harsh, but it is something you need to do.

I have a really dumb question. I have moderately severe osteoarthritis of my hip. I am finding it increasingly difficult to sit at a desk or table for longer than 15 or 20 minutes at a time. I find I am fairly more comfortable sitting on my recliner sofa and it's easier on my hip. Do any of you work at a desk or table? Do you have any suggestions.
