Does anyone use bill pay through their bank?

I am thinking of using bill pay through my bank and my question specifically is if whether anyone has had a problem with it...any kind of problem...did the check get out late? any problems with delivery or lost checks? I would like to set up my mortgage payment but worry it would get lost in the mail.

Payments never been late. You get on and within minutes your bills are paid. My sister barks at this and she and her husband said, no wonder you had money stolen from your account, blah, blah, blah. I had to remind her that the money was stolen after someone stole my identity from a check I wrote at local store.

But no, bills don't get lost in the mail. They get there on time, providing you submit the payment on time. Or I think you can have it revolving where they automatically send it on a day you pick.

Go for it! No more check writing, no more stamps. It's the wave of the future. I wouldn't go back to the old way.

I never had a problem with it. In fact, all my bills get paid this way, it saves on postage.

using online bill payments but I do it through my bank... Never had a problem. Time and postage saver.

possibly pay your bills. Most banks guarantee that your bills will get to the payee when they claim it will. And, because it is your bank's own secure website, that really cuts out the risk of any unauthorized transactions taking place on your account. I add every possible payee to my list, including some medical and dental bills. I hate it if I actually have to write a check now, and a box of checks lasts me FOREVER!!!

I also like that I can choose a date for the bill to be paid, so I can set it up as soon as I receive the bill in the mail, but it won't be paid until it's time for it to be paid. I also use it to automatically pay my mortgage, which has a late fee of almost $50 if it's late, and I can't afford to accidentally forget to pay it.

Everything is scheduled and gets to the payee on time. I could never find the bill, or the envelope, or the stamp. I was always paying late fees. It's been about eight years now and I love it.

For most bills, your bank will send the money electronically if the payee is a known entity, i.e., your credit cards, mortgage company, etc., so it will get there really fast. Also, my bank always sends me an e-mail within 2-3 days stating what activity has taken place on the account and where the money went.

Okay..so President Obama wants to start having taxes for the banks because he feels that these banks should pay back us taxpayers because we bailed them out. I have a question. I haven't had a bank account in YEARS, because I just use a payroll card and have been quite happy with it. I was finally deciding to save some money though, so went and opened a savings account. Just a few short years ago I made $20+ per hour, now I don't even want to know, probably $12-15 if I am lucky. So it's not just minimum wage McDonald's workers, in this article it is bank tellers, rather similar to us. Yesterday was payday and I was very excited, of course! My van payment ($242) and my personal loan payment ($95) were due on April 11th. Both of these are through my Navy Federal Credit Union account that I had since I was 16.
