He was so funny. My daughter and I were singing "Pants on the Floor" last night. It's big on both of our Facebook pages too as well as our friends who watched.

Hate to tell you, he could not audition - Lynn

[ In Reply To ..]
That was a gag- the man was 62 years old, wayyyyyyyyyyy over the age limit.

The age limit is 28 -- it doesn't matter, The General won't be an "Ido", but . . - sweetpea

he'll be a star!!

Actually living in Atlanta I found it to be rather - Lynn

disgusting considering what the young guys downtown wear a lot, that is the pants hanging down showing their underwear and their behinds, taken from the gangster or jail house look. The mayor tried to pass a law here in town requiring the guys to wear belts, pull their pants up so actually not amusing to me and probably others here in Atlanta that have caught the view of someone's crack (and I do not mean a joint) and have issues with that. Schools around Atlanta also have had to deal with that issue. I am not really amused by it. I think just like the "Housewives of Atlanta" showing ghetto is not the way most try to show to outsiders.
I don't think the general likes it either - idolfan
[ In Reply To ..]
In his song, he says "looking like a fool with your pants on the ground." I gotta agree with the general. These guys that let their pants hang low look ridiculous. Good for your mayor!
I think its odd that gangsters would adopt a look that - - sm - Zircon

would hinder their getaway after they committed a crime! More than a few of them have been nabbed while running because of "Pants on the Ground"!

You just insulted my entire family! What an incredibly snobby thing to say. Obviously you have no sense of humor.
If your family is like that, then - Southern Lady
[ In Reply To ..]
yes I might have insulted your family but again I live in Atlanta, know this too well. Call me snobby if you want, I know where I draw the line and it is some baffoon like this character.
If you had read a recent article - LinK
[ In Reply To ..]
about him, maybe you wouldn't feel that way. If I could remember where I found it, I'd post the ling. He explained the reason for the song. And it was just a funny song, nothing more. By the way, the boys here wear their pants the same way. We also have a dress code against it at our high school. It's not something I enjoy either, but I thought the song was hillarious.
I think it's a fun song and he's making a statement. - OldMT
[ In Reply To ..]
My family is fun and they like to have fun. They are not "baffoons." We are educated, have careers and nice homes. Your comment is snobby and makes it sound like you think you're better than this man, even though you really know absolutely nothing about him. We too are from the south, that has nothing to do with this. We have laughed over this song and find it a statement of what a lot of people are thinking.
You want the truth, right? - Southern Lady
[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, really do think I am better than that guy. You should read the posts a little better. Do not know where you got the idea I called your family baffoons. Take you medication and go to bed, might feel better tomorrow.
Wow, must have hit a nerve - OldMT
[ In Reply To ..]
Dear Southern "Lady," it's obvious you think you're better than everybody else. I've been posting on these boards for a long time and you are by far one of the rudest people I've seen. You're insulting and nasty about something that's everyone else is taking as funny. Obviously that gentleman is of a different type of lifestyle than you or I, but that's no reason to insult or belittle him and that seems to be your intent. I think it's you who needs the medication. A true "lady" wouldn't insult the man by resulting to name calling. You have a good night.

Loved the end of the show where everyone was doing - the "Pants-on-the-Ground" song.

[ In Reply To ..]
As Simon said, it probably WILL become a "hit", especially on YouTube.

I was talking with a potential renter yesterday, and she mentioned American Idol. Within seconds, we were both doing the "Pants-on-the-Ground" song, much to the surprise and embarrassment of her husband!

Flash in the pan - forced one at that

Why Don't They Rename American Idol To "Idol For A Day"....Feb 24, 2011
Anyone remember the old tv show "Queen for a Day."  For those who don't, it was a daily tv show from the 50's where several ladies got up and told their  sob story and then they used an applause meter to pick the winner.  The winner received  a crown and robe and all sorts of gifts.  That was fine for Queen for a Day, but, hey, this show is supposed to be about talent.  Is there so much extra talent out there that they have to make the deciding factor the ...

The Next American Idol?May 03, 2012
I know, I know. It can be a bit lame but I've been watching it for years. Who do you think will win this year? I originally thought it would definitely be Jessica Sanchez, now I'm not so sure. That Joshua can certainly sing, although he wasn't my favorite at first, but he has grown on me. Holly has also stepped it up a few notches. Guess it's up to the voters now. ...

American Idol OpinionsJan 21, 2011
Any comments on the new American Idol.  I really enjoyed Wednesday's show I thought it was funny and refreshing.  I have not seen Thursday and read where the reviews were not great.  I think Jennifer Lopez will learn to say no as time goes on.  I thought the segment about the boy that lived in the shelter in the bronx was so emotional and you can the family bond between the two brothers.  What do you think? ...

American Idol Is So Lame AnymoreApr 20, 2011
This show and judges are such a bore now.  The judges say the same predictable stuff.  Its nothing without Simon.  ...and they love James Durbin, but when he screams that high note, its horrible... horrible.  My friend who teaches music noticed this too.  Listening to him on a CD would be painful.  Why cant people just sing well and that be good enough?  Its all about theatrics, screaming, being different, etc.  I used to love watching Idol.  I am don ...

Larry King Vs Piers Morgan....missing Larry!Feb 08, 2011
I admit Larry King's shows were not as compelling as they used to be...after all he has interviewed everyone and all subjects.  I think he was a great interviewer...he was not rude and he knew how to listen.  But this Piers guy,  I can't figure out for what reason they chose him.  He's rude, arrogant and interrupts which makes for a boring show.     Like most interviewers these day....they seem to think we want to hear what they have to say and not th ...

She showed a lot of class.  She stuck with the policies of the U.S.  She did not let herself get goaded into a Sarah Palin bash.  She was very dignified in her answers to Larry King. This board has turned into a hatefest over Sarah Palin.  Get back to what is going on in the world.  We have a lot of issues that need to be worked on whether we are Conservatives, Dems, Liberals or Progressives. Nobody deserved to win... and no.. not even James. He could not carry a tune.  Lauren is a good singer, but really, if anyone has watched the show "The Voice", almost every contestant on there was better than anyone on idol this year.  The judges are a total joke, lame, lame, lame.  I used to love this show, but since Simon has left, its a big bore. Also, the voting system is not legit.  Nobody should be able to vote over and over and over.  This show is nothing but a bi ...

"No Fair Wage For American Workers." Most American JobsDec 12, 2012
the people who hold them are getting wage cuts instead of increases. We're ALL in trouble.
