Anyone here use the Fluidity Bar or program- sm

Saw the infomercial the other day on this, looks pretty cool but way too much money of course. Did some digging today, found reviews, etc. I still would like to try it, found some on craigs list for $180-$200, but no one has answered my emails as yet after two days. So started thinking of how I could do it w/o buying their bar...came up with buying a portable ballet barre ($105) but started to figure it would not work for some of the moves, so thought of a possible alternative, a doorway pull-up bar...1/3 of the cost too of the portable ballet barre. So plan on getting the DVD set ($60) and the pull-up bar ($30) and give it a shot (a lot better than $494 they want). Wanted to see if anyone here has done it and their thoughts on it.

I saw the infomercial, too, and was really interested until I saw the price. Yowza! Not sure if you came up with the pull-up bar idea on your own, but there was a discussion on a fitness forum that caught my eye. Just haven't been able to get with the program yet.

Thanks to whoever recommended a chin-up bar as a barre substitute! I got myself one for my birthday and tried it out with Fluidity. It works! I can lean on it, pull away from it, and do pullups. It doesn't move! If you want to try this, you will need a door with a stable door frame (mine is metal). It would be great if the door frame is a bit deep too so you can also use it to do the flat back exercises with the door closed behind you.
You do want to check that the rubber ends are not black! A lot of reviewers comment that those leave awful marks in the door frame. I got mine with white rubber ends and it doesn't leave marks. as my one daughter has one for her doorway, mounted though so too high for me to use. Figured it would do the same thing as the bar they sell, plus my daughter does ballet too and was just thinking of alternatives that might work with someone puttng their full weight against it, that is when I realized a portable ballet barre would not work (after looking at some of the exercises on the website).

Good info on the black rubber end caps though. All my doorways are wood, need to see which would work the best and where I could set up my laptop too so I could see what I need to do.

with their creativity. Even if I saw a chin-up bar, like you did, I probably would not think of it as a substitute Fluidity bar. It does sound like a great idea, though.

Just finished week 2 on the Shaun T Insanity Program and I MUST SAY that this is the BEST program I have ever seen. It is VERY hard, but in two weeks I have lost 5 pounds and I haven't even measured the inches, but I can wear clothes that I haven't been able to wear in a while. Just started, seems WAAAY different from old program. Anyone doing this and what is your opinion on the program. Also, a little ticked off they do not have any calculators to figure your food with. That alone is a problem. There is a calculator on line though if you have access to it. ...
